Xfactor..Rigged or Real?

Rigged

Why are any of us bothering to watch when already the winner has recorded the Christmas number one and Simon already knows who it will be..

The result is already in, the winner has been determined....the public are being hoodwinked, similar to the way we were hoodwinked with BB...lack of live feed etc.

It's just a silly game, a con, a fake.

To ring and vote is to line Mr Cowells pockets....I have never voted and never will. I think he has plenty in those deep trouser pockets to last him a lifetime.... he may just need it, the public are tiring of him.....that's the way I feel anyway!

Real but manipulated not rigged.

If people wanted Lucie to stay so bad. They should have picked up the phone and voted.

Do you honestly think they take any phone votes into consideration when deciding who is in and who is out?

Well they did last night didn't they. And the figures are publicly released after the final.

I don't think they'd rig the votes, but they do everything in their power to manipulate them and make the public vote how they want them to.

It's manipulated in every possible way you could conceive, but that can only go so far (although usually far enough to hook in enough people).

If the people had been told it was down to the public vote alone maybe they would have voted more.

It's a singing contest! I assumed the judges having the final say was to make sure the better singer was saved, silly me

What does Simon care, they still got the Xmas number one and the series was a success, job done as far as he's concerned.

It's micromanaged - neither real nor rigged. Unlike Idol, which is legally allowed to do what it wants with the votes.

I don't think people realise that they are quids in whoever wins. Yes, they may favour some acts over others, but ultimately it doesn't matter, Simon still makes shed loads of money whether Leona wins or Leon wins.....it is that same every year.

Manipulated, yes - rigged, no.

That was my point though. Yes as long as Simon makes money he is happy, but if it were rigged then he would have the winner he could see making his label the most money every year. Its very manipulated, but its not rigged.

With the exception of Leona, which I think there were other factors involved there.....I actually don't think Simon can or IS able to predict who can make his label the most money in a year.

We are being manipulated by taking part in what is in actual fact a Soap Opera. All this controversy over Danyl being in the bottom 2, Rachel going over a dire Lloyd, the twins staying in over the better vocalist etc........it is all drama, it isn't real.

And the public lack it up. If it weren't a serious competition then Lloyd and the twins wouldn't have even made the final 12.........there were plenty of acts that were talented that didn't even get to the live auditions because the production team have a quota of fantastic/good/mediocre( you know, the ones where the judges have to deliberate for ages) and dreadfully crap acts to make good telly.

Call me sad, but if this was a genuine, legitimate competition then I would find it incredibly boring!

totally agree..
i think the people who have "officially complained" are complete tools..why didnt they just pick up the phone and vote..then Lucy would be in and Jewdard would be out... no good complaining when its their fault Lucy is out!!!

Put it this way: WWE wrestling is more believable than the X-Factor now.

General Zod's ego has ruined the show forever.

My question though is.....and this is genuine ok....don't bite my head off.....

Are the phone votes REAL? How do we know? With all the controversy surrounding phone lines etc....are they real, do they exist in reality or are folk just dialing into a money exchange? I am in doubt that ANY of it is real right now......

Not completely rigged but votes are controlled and manipulated, which means the voters themselves are controlled and manipulated. So basically, LOL @ voters. Slap yourselves for being so thick.

Of course they're real. The Media in this country is tightly regulated and controlled. And after the record fines that other production companies recieved for problems with their phone voting do you really think that they would still rig the votes? They don't release figures during the series as that would affect the way people vote, but at the end they release a week by week breakdown of the figures. These figures are checked and regulated by organisations outside of the production company. During the investigations into phone votes past series of The X Factor were investigated and, each time, no problems were found.

The phone lines aren't run by XF. They're run by an independent body. They would not be allowed to rig a vote- it's called theft.

It is a bit of both, remember, Leona had not been the wistful little receptionist for quite some time, she had an album deal and was advised not to go ahead but enter the show to promote her, that to me was dishonest and not fair on the rest. Simon know from before the audition that she was going to be the winner, and she was the best vocalist.

That is why this show is about entertaining the public and keeping them watching and voting, the winner always makes Simon more money than the million he spends with just the first single and the album. ITV make a fortune from the advertising during the show and the public get to be entertained - hopefully.

Manipulated, maybe a bit of rigging when it comes to decisions like Sunday night, I would say the phone vote is legit and then it's Simon and the producers game after that.
