It does remind me of Orwell's "1984", where the original Big Brother state reduces the chocolate ration without publicly acknowledging the fact, and then later increases it with a big fanfare, although not back to the level it was at previous to being reduced.

Its just PR BS from Mrs Jain..

they are trying to makeout putting back the pathetic 2 hours..is some kind of U turn.

that rebounds then on BB11..saying 'hardly anyone watched the 2 hours' I cant give you more hours...

they can afford the 2 hours in CBB because of the time of year and trying to give the impression we are back to some decent coverage.

the mirror states EIGHT hours per 24hrs will be feed..

thats 6 hours of night time and 2 in the afternoon.

totally..

they also know it was around this time last year questions started to be asked about the feeds etc..

its a very devious game they are playing.

another poster pointed out and its SO worth saying again..
you can buy the entire Seasons of friends for 40 quid..
she is basically filling E4 with a cheap to air show..when a live homegrown show will yet again be treated like Crap.

It must be made clear.what everyone found so crap for last years CBB..

(feed starting gone midnight all in bed when it did) is what they have planned next time.

Hi everyone

Haven't been on thr forums for quite some time, but thought I'd pop in quickly after hearing the news on the live feed.

I have to say I was quite thrilled reading that the live feed had been "revived" only to find out it's only for a few hours in the afternoon, aka. the same as CBB6.

Not good enough I'm afraid. If C4 had memories that didn't seem to conveniently forget these things, they would remember the campaign to get live feed back to 24/7 started because of the reduction in CBB6 and not just the one in BB10.

So essentially, as you've all said, it's exactly the same as what made me join the campaign in the first place. If they really think they are giving us something, they are seriously mistaken. 2 extra hours just isn't good enough.

Tbh, I may have been happy with 12 hours a day. At least that would be a fairly decent amount. But 8 hours is nothing, especially when you consider 5/6 of them will be housemates sleeping.

Try again C4. Give the fans what they want and stop trying to spin things with this PR cr*p

hello
as ever really valid points and common sense.

I might be alone thinking this..but seems they should be putting all the money into making sure BB11..leaves TV in total style?

why are they even going to bother when the concept is already doomed to Failure...they just dont get it if you dont provide the coverage..no one CARES!!

IAC is back soon..but thats totally different because a lot of the time is taken up by the bush tucker trials..

plus also the time difference made the feed Crap.

Big brother is being able to watch them when WE want..it makes the entire series pointless.

they are going to spend hundreds of pounds on Silicone implants on Legs..that hardly anyone would want to watch.

I doubt it was even from Angela Jain, just a minion. Like the one I got saying that if I went on a BB related show, hosted by a certain gentleman, I should fully expect to have his rancid tool thrust into the back of my head.

C4 are getting slaughtered in the ratings..
If they had some massive pulling shows even new stuff is barely making 500k on E4..

there is no Excuse no little scrag ends CBB *shouldnt even be aired if money is that tight they need to make BB11 the best ever.

the entire nightime feed is a sick joke one they use to beat us about the head come the summer to say 'hardly anyone watched it thats the reason why' like when they took figures that clearly werent matching up to ones already out there.

they changed the viewing figures THREE times earlier this year to justify the cuts.

Its time now C4 gave us a break, yet again the amazing forward thinking C4..even at its worse BB10 brought it 1.5 million viewers..most nights C4 doesnt even get 1.2 million.

and that was 100% self inflicted by C4.

C4 just can't compete anymore really.

Which shows are the big hitters ratings-wise? Soaps and Reality TV shows.

Eastenders, Strictly and The Apprentice are some of BBC's top rated shows.

Corrie, BGT, X Factor and I'm a Celeb are ITV's.

C4 had Brookside, but they destoryed that to make way for Big Brother. Now they're destorying BB, the only show they have / had that could compete on a mainstream level. Even in 2008 3.6m on average against the competition must of been great for C4 each night.

I do wonder what on earth is going to replace BB now as there big hitter. I really do think they've shot themselves in the foot and probably won't find very much at all. I mean personally, I'm not the slightest bit interested in watching a plane crash or watching MP's in council flats. I'd much rather watch another year of BB (if they put the effort in again).

Also, what kind of longevity do these programmes have? The plane thing seems like a one off and the MP thing sounds like a really cheap BB knock off. Then of course they've got rid of Wife Swap and How Clean is Your House.

C4 have no hope beyond BB. They can hardly stay afloat now. There best bet would be to save resources for BB11 and have a fully fledged live feed. Not much point paying loads of money for celebs people will not be able to even watch.

I think by now everyone knows that C4 are liars and will say anything to try and make themselves look a bit less incompetent. But the fact remains, they took a show that was almost impossible to screw up and screwed it up. It's all about damage limitation for Jain and co. Either give us 24/7 coverage or just don't bother airing the final CBB and BB.

i'd agree with that,it's all or nothing for me
apparently channel 4 aren't bothered that big brother makes them money or that it got an average 2.5 million viewers for 93 days last summer
how about maximising it's potential with 24/7 live feed next summer.

something gone badly wrong at channel 4 if that's the current state of affairs.no point spending money on shows that no one wants to watch.

should hear from kevin lygo on friday about the future plans & direction of channel 4
no doubt everything is gonna be just fine as they are showing a plane crash next year.thats about one hour of tv what about the rest of the winter schedule.
surely not more dross
just maybe they should have 24/7 live feed for CBB as they have bugger all new to show on E4

E4 is basically worth about £40
bargain basement television
channel 4 specialize in 360 degree U turns rather than the more common 180 degrees

hi mate lovely to see you posting again (xx)

Totally agree..what a way to go..Even an online feed (1 cam) via the BB homepage is better than the farce they are offering.

and yes..last night apart from the simpsons C4 didnt break the 2 million barrier thats with that 3D BS...

the mere fact IAC is raking in nearly 10 million people says it all really...ITV DIDNT mess around to the point the show wasnt IAC anymore.

the 24hr feed never worked because of the time difference to the UK.

BB IS a live feed..and the sooner Jain and Co realise that the better.

Hi oathy, LF and all Hope you're all well. I haven't been taking much interest in anything BB-related, I must admit. BB10 proved to me that it was all over. That ridiculous site of theirs with the short clips, posted nearly a full day after events happened, was just taking the piss and the final straw.

All the other reality shows seem to be either holding firm or bringing in even more viewers. Admittedly they don't all air every day, but even so, they are clearly listening to their viewers.

hi mate xx

Well yet again last night C4 proved its just The Simpsons that can even drag the ratings over 2 million.

The homegrown shows didnt even reach 2 million in primetime..

they only have a short time to take the bull by the b*lls and either give BB the TLC they failed last year..or as you said yesterday just dont bother and let it die in peace.
