The article above details the ill health that high heels can cause. They have been proven to cause all sorts of foot problems as well as sore backs.

Today in Neighbours Elle Robinson was wearing them. the camera zoomed in on them. She was trying to teach one of the younger neighbours netball or something. She should have worn flat, sensible shoes.

Elle (Pippa Black) is a role model to a young generation of women who will be watching Neighbours. Thats its target audience these days.

Are we going to stand for this?

Is this thread serious? Anyway thanks for the heads up. Netball in heels? I'll check out the repeat tomorrow.

I'd also like to complain about Batman. I don't want the kids today to become caped vigilantes and to speak with a menacing growl. And the way he drives his car on the roof? Disgraceful. Somebody could get quite badly hurt.

This original post is just a joke right? It isn't serious is it? I wore stiletto heels in the 60's and platforms back in the 70's and this sort of opinion was around then .

When hula hoops (not the sweets) came out first in the 60's there were dire warnings that we would cripple our spines if you used one

Eels are as harmful as pepper and we should be warning old people of the dangers of eating eels before it's too late!

The occasional eel pie might be ok but regular "eel and chips" will clog the humous veins with eel skin.

People who wish a substitue for bacon might consider Hameel, a popular meat substitute doing WW2. This is referenced in the classic song by Vera Lynn "Eel meat again"

I too was utterly outraged at this. Its shocking that they would show young, impressionable women that its safe or acceptable to partake in sports wearing high heels, and that society expects them to fall into some stereotype by wearing them.

What on earth were Five thinking? I know its a trashy channel, but this has gone too far. BBC1 would never have shown such a tasteless, barbaric, neanderthal scene at such an early hour, thats for sure. I was so disgusted in fact, that I spent this morning (alone I may add

) outside Channel 5s head office with a placard saying "Down to Elle! Down to heels!".

Not one member of the public showed any interest, which shows what kind of broken society we live in, and not only that nobody bothered to help me when I tripped over the curb and fell flat on my face. I scuffed my Gucci heels pretty bad, but thankfully I had my Jimmy Choos 4 inch stilettos in my rucksack, so was able to get home ok.
