Simon made Queen week decision on Sunday night

Quote:
There have been more claims of fixing by fans however – with some accusing Simon of choosing a theme to favour his own acts over others. An insider told The Sun:: “This change of plan has come as no surprise to many of us as this benefits Simon’s acts.

“Jamie will be brilliant singing a Queen song, as will Danyl.

“But it might prove difficult for Stacey Solomon or Lloyd Daniels.”

How can Simon be allowed to mentor AND choose the themes? That seems completely unfair...

How about he just lets the contestants sing whatever the hell they want for once?!

Cowell makes up the rules as he goes along. His plans went wrong on Sunday with the wrong bottom two so he is trying another tactic. He has been getting away with conning the public for years and now thinks he is untouchable.

Sadly it's his programme and he can pretty much do what he likes with it.

That said I am looking forward to all three of the Overs doing Queen, think they'll be great! Stacey can sing one of their ballads, the twins will obviously do Radio GaaGaa or something, Joe will do an ok performance with his song and lloyd is always dull whatever he sings.

so he can make a girl and a 16yr old boy sing 30 yr old songs by one of the biggest groups ever and then say things like
"the song was too big for you" and "your not relevant"

will also be a good one for the twins to shout we will rock you again with a backing track to hit those fabulous high range of notes only freddie mercury could hit.

Simon is the puppet master, we should accept this, not fight it

the twins have already shouted we will rock you in "rock" week!

plus... a 34yr old man is expected to sing god awful screechy drivel in Diva week so fair is fair!
Queen songs are very across the board and will suit all the contestants IMO

yup, they are versatile, and can be 'made' into lots of different styles. You can bring some of them down to actoustic set-up or just make them into ballads, or speed them up/modernise them etc. There's something for everyone.

It's more likely that the queen decision was made after Brian May has shown an interest in the show. Plus, as people ahve stated, the queen back catalog contains so much variety and so many well known strong songs, which is more than you can say for most bands.

I don't doubt that many view the show for the 'car crash' moments, should be a good week for a few.

Of course that is so.
It is so obvious.

Queen week had been strongly mooted before the live shows even started. It seemed that it was more a question of which week and not if.

In terms of it being for the benefit of Simon's acts, I don't see why he should feel that they are in so much trouble at this stage that he needs to bring this week forward.

Also I doubt very much that this week is planned to put paid to Stacey. Why would he want to get rid of the last girl in the competition before even the top 5?

From what I have been hearing over the past couple of days, the decision to bring forward Queen week to this week was more down to someone else's availability than Brian and Roger's.

It's Simon's show!

Besides, if you're that good you'll be able to sing almost anything so the theme shouldn't matter. It's not Simon's fault that there is not a single theme that will suit Lloyd or that Stacey can only sing certain songs.

Simon as usual is looking after his own acts. He would never do abba week this week, knowing full well that Jamie and Danyl would suffer.

It's all about Simon's acts this year.

I am not sure this benefits ONLY Simon's acts.

Queen is very versatile, there are many to choose from

I for one am looking forward to it.

All the judges look after their own acts. Simon can't do no right at the moment, no matter what the theme is people would say it's a fix. I suppose Diva week was to suit his own all male acts too?

There is also the point that Queen week will suit John and Edward quite well.

Maybe it is THEM he is trying to help rather than his own acts.

Queen have enough songs to find something suitbable for every contestants but at the same time, it probably is the perfect theme to really make and break the contestants and finally find that one true winner.

They would all suffer if it was Abba week, they are notoriously hard songs to cover.

The voice of reason

You are right there are so many Queen songs - I tell you what it will sort them out it really will. Mind you I think that the arrangements might be interesting to see too.

Leona and Ashley pulled it of in x-factor 2. Both were in Simon's catagory.

It's clear that Simon doing Queen will benefit his catagory. It's his show. Biased and self-serving until the end.
