Fuji repair a disgrace

I sent my Fuji F30 off to Fuji to be repaired, after Three week in the there repair shop they sent me a replacment camera a new F60, but no explanation, I have been phoning them every week and not once did they say they couldn't fix my camera, I wasn't even given the option to have my camera back and a refund, do you think Fuji are out of order? I mean the camera is my property, I should decide what to do with my camera if they can't repair it, I have asked for my camera back. there reply was its in a box with other cameras and they have to find it, I just can't believe they throw cameras they can't repair in to a box, then when they want a spare part for the same model camera they have to sort through the box, unbelieveable, I have my suspicions the Fuji F10 is a well sort after camera, I wouldn't be surprised if someone in the Fuji repair shop took a shine to my camera and thought we'll just sent him a new camera and he'll be happy. your help is appreciated

Um, I may be missing something here but haven't they sent you a newer, better camera as a replacement?

According to Amazon the F30 is a 6MP Camera with 3x optical zoom. The F60 is a 12MP with 3x optical zoom.

I'm not entirely sure why you're complaining, unless you forgot to take out your memory card in which case I can kind of understand. Although its really up to you to remove any private data from electronic goods before sending them off for repair for exactly this reason.

I agree - poor service indeed, they should have let you know your options.

I am somewhat confused by the initial reference to F30 then finally F10 but apparently the F30 could be well sought-after as reviewers say none of the subsequent models match it for picture quality and the like.

Sorry where I typed F10 it should of been F30, The F60 in my opinion is not as good as the F30, the F30 is one of the best cameras Fuji ever made, they go for £150 + on ebay.

Apparently the F30 does have some used value:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-lis...condition=used

That Amazon seller seems a bit of an optimist, though.

However, I suspect that a non-working F30 is worth little or nothing. There's one currently listed on eBay as for "Spares or Repair" and it's currently standing at £1.26. Now the closing price may be higher, but I doubt if it'll be anything much. Two others described as faulty are at £0.99 each.

Fuji probably did about as much as they could in sending you a new camera, but nevertheless they should ideally have given you the option of having your old one back as well.

What fault did your camera have, juandan?

PS: The F30 does seem to have been a good camera, though:

The camera had a zoom fault but cosmetically it was in mint condition, I think you'll find the F30 with a fault will go for alot more than £1.26, I've been playing with the Fuji F60 and guess what I'm starting like it, guys who can repair cameras buy faulty F30 cameras for the spare parts

Yes, you're right. Some of them seem to have gone for £20 or £30 on eBay, and one went for £41.00, but that one seemed to have quite a lot of accessories.

You might as well keep nagging Fuji until you get your camera back, anyway.

I agree they're crap. Our camera started to just shutdown as soon as you switched it on.They refused to fix it because we were using the wrong batteries. The wrong batteries they supplied with the camera. They ended up just ignoring our complaints and now I'll never buy another product from them.

I had problems with Fuji with my old camera, I've since purchased cameras through Amazon, so if there's any problems within the first year you can go back to Amazon who have been great with returns for me in the past.
