Yes, he is stupid. That's why he has to hire people like Max Clifford. He can't do it himself - he just pays people to do it for him.

No but he thinks the public are and in most cases he's not disappointed.

Max clifford is one of the most influential people in the media.
All the big stars go to him too, do they not. Its all about the right man for the job at hand

And if Simon was such a big media-genius, he wouldn't need Clifford and could do it all himself.

But he's not. He's just a suit with money and pays the people with real skill to do the work for him.

Simon doesn't even have the skill to do the job he's supposed to do - ie. be a music producer. Look at Leona. First thing he does is ship her off to America to work with a bunch of talented music producers - yet, as her producer, shouldn't he actually be doing that job?

Simon is nothing more than a typical middle-man. He has no skill. All he's got is the money he made by getting lucky selling gimmick records and the connections he's made since, by spreading around the money he made selling those gimmick records.

His success is little different to winning the lottery. He made loads of bets and finally one paid off big time. He then used that cash to pay for the actual skilled individuals to do the work for him.

That makes him lucky and well-advised. It doesn't make him very clever.

He is far from honest, haha. He secretly liked the twins from the start, yet slates them when he can and pretends he dislikes him. Yes, he is very honest

That makes...like...no sense at all!

People are jealous of Simon Cowell for being honest on a TV show that he owns? What EXACTLY are people supposed to be jealous of?

You also might note that most people liked Simon Cowell when he was known as "the man who was brutally honest." It's his complete lack of honesty that people are not liking.

Also, please note, disliking does not equal jealousy. Most people are not jealous of qualities they dislike. That would be moronic!

Oooh, ad hominems!! Well done, that's my argument destroyed. Always good come come across a good counter-argument!

No I am not envious of Simon Cowell. Yes, I would like to have his money, no doubt about that! But that doesn't make me envious. Nor does anything else I said.

I suggest you take more time "going through posts" in future, before hitting the reply button. Best not to start making judgements about "smartness" whilst delivering a factual content of zero.

The script said the twins wouldn't be in the bottom 2. The script went wrong and Simon was left with egg on his face. No biggie, he just looks a bit of a prat.

Did you actually listen to his explanation of why he took it to deadlock?no you were probably ranting too much,he has never said he doesn't like them he said they cannot sing,I am not an J&E fan but he made that decision it's not the end of the world,Lucie didn't get the votes simple as that.He is very honest, that is why he gets slated some people don't like the truth,

Who cares about the bloody twins?? this thread is about Mr Cowell do you think he would be shocked by your comment? A mere glitch in the proceedings to him.

And that is exactly the kind of reponse I expected from some, your post had undertones of envy, anyone could pick that up,you do not know the man so cannot say who or what he is.You seem to know all about how things should be done,so will we be seeing you with your own music show on TV anytime soon? or will you still be here pretending you know how it's done and slagging Simon off

Did he not say that they were two of the most annoying people he'd ever met, that they were vile and would sell their own grandmother and that if he got the groups category, he wouldn't even let them on the plane?

Has he also not - repeatedly - said that the show is a singing competition?

Wasn't his "compliment" on Saturday's show him saying that they were "sort of entertaining" - but only compared to everything they'd done before?

Everyone heard the reason he gave for taking it to deadlock - that's why people are calling him a liar now. It flies in the face of everything he's said before.

Your OP stated that Simon knows exatly what he's doing, I merely pointed out that he didn't, especially on Sunday. Simon's success has been largely through smoke and mirrors and on Sunday we saw the man behind the curtain and he didn't look too happy.

"Undertones of envy that anyone could pick up!" Could that actually mean "you reading things into a post that aren't there?"

I didn't say I knew how to be a music mogul, did I? I said Simon is not as clever as people make out and he hires people who are. You seem adept at reading things that aren't actually written. It's quite a skill - just not a very useful one.
