The Sugababes doing an absolutely amazing performance on live lounge! (Youtube link)

That was brilliant! I don't think anyone can fault their vocals, Jade sounded on top form! I thought the harmonies also blended together very well.

They also confirmed that they are recording new songs for the album.

Here is their cover of 'Rabbit Hearts' by Florence & The Machine which was equally as amazing:

Fantastic! Lots who said Jade's voice would stand out and not harmonise well should listen to this. Can't wait to hear their cover.

Exactly, I'm really looking forward to their performances and album now! Never really did doubt the new line up but this just proved why!

I've never really been a massive fan of the Sugababes, love the odd track but their albums have always been quite disappointing for me.

However, I was absolutely blown away by that Live Lounge, I came on here to say exactly that, pleased to see there's already a thread.

In terms of spot on vocals and harmonies, one of the very best Live Lounges I've heard. It was so stunning, I only had it on in the background but had to stop what I was doing.

'About A Girl' sounded amazing and I was blown away by their cover of 'Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)'. Love that song but not a fan of Florence's live delivery sometimes, the Sugababes delivered it absolutely beautifully.

Based on that I have to say I'm a fan of the new line up!

I'm glad to hear that you are now a fan Nicola.
All the feedback has been so positive so far and all of the texts that Fearne read out were emphasising how much everyone loved the performance.

Yep, just checked out the Popjustice forum and they were generally very negative before but everything seems to have changed since this performance.

I think I would now like an album from the babes with a jazz cafe sound lol.

I know, I was absoultely shocked at how powerful her vocals are in the last chorus when she does the high bits.

I loved both songs! I'm starting to get used to the new line up (I was never against it in the first place, just a but gutted for Keisha). There voices seem to blend together really well.

Truly outstanding. If people say they aren't going to work after that they are just haters pure and simple. As someone said. This is the strongest they have ever been. Jade sounds amazing with Heidi and Amelle. Their voices gell so much better than Keisha did with them.

Rabbit Heart cover is very squeaky imo , but about a girl sounds good. Perhaps they should step away from Flo and the machine in future

Both videos are good

I knew Jade was a good singer and all but i didn't know how this would work out.

These videos prove that it works out great

On a technical level their vocals are faultless. Say what you want about the constant line up changes but the fact remains that the Sugababes are the most vocally talented girlgroup in the UK at the moment and always have been in each incarnation.

The harmonies here are spot on. I knew they would probably sound OK but I wasn't expecting their first ever public performance to be so good. Hearing that, Keisha's voice is not missed at all. However, it is the old material that will be testing for them. If they can pull that off then they are laughing.

yes, i think it's wise they don't try that again. but 'about a girl' wasn't too bad.
