Simon Cowell To Explain Why He Backed Twins On Next X Factor Show

According to The Mirror Simon Cowell has vowed to explain his shock decision to back the twins in next week's X Factor show.
I think we have a Darth Vader scenario here. So which twin is Luke Skywalker and which one is Princess Leia?

Cowell reveals all while the contestants sing the songs of Queen? And to think that some people reckon they will be boycotting the show. They will all be watching.

I am not watching the main show. Lost complete interest. Stacey is the only one for me now, but will just cath her performances on youtube, I have other things to do lol

Of course I will watch the results

But dont just disregard what people are saying, i'm genuinely not watching it

He'll simply say he didn't back the twits, he was just 'being fair' by bringing the decision down to the public vote. After all, this has been his excuse the last two weeks running. He's hardly likely to admit it was a hardfaced business decision, is he??

What I'd like him to explain is why put the contestants through the sing off, saying he'll judge on that performance and then bring it down to deadlock, contradicting himself in the process.
I'd also like to know is it anything to do with the clear rift he has with Dannii this year. Twice now, he had the chance to save one of her acts over a far less talented act and has failed to do so.

That's your prerogative but this week the viewing figures will be higher than ever.

He shouldn't have to do that. He made a decision, some people weren't happy - that's life. In three months time it'll be 'Lucie who'?

He is only making the announcement out of fear for the demise of credibility for the show. His little trick has backfired.

He will give his little oscar winning speech and the public will mostly lap it all up and forget everytihng happened.

The more intelligent people will relaise they are being treated like idiots and will siwtch off or never vote again.

It certainly is. this is probably why SC and co. have engineered the antics of the last few weeks.

It won't mean anything, he'll have a week to perfect his "explanation".

Agree with you on this one. Will watch the results but only because I like Shakira. As for the XF Results after this week unless their is a guest on I like I can give it amiss if there is something on elsewhere. Staring to lose complete interest. If I need to fill up on reality I'm a celebrity starts this weekend.

He doesn't have to do it. He's doing it - and announcing that he's going to do it - as an enticement to people to tune in next week. Simple as that.

But he didn't back the twins. Or so he said last week. Is he now saying that he did?

Or is it going to be a rehash of he didn't know what to do so the fairest thing to do was let the public decide (a public who'd have backed Lucie in the sing off given the chance)?

If you read all of these threads you will see it's the press which is following comments made by the viewers.

Haha, he is trying to make sure the public will still vote for his acts. This is what I think anyway

Where does that leave Lucie.

Uh, we all know why he did it: ratings. If he says anything else then he's a bigger liar than I already thought.

I saw a Yahoo poll that had over 40000 votes and a massive 87% or so thought Cowell's decision had damaged 'any credibility the X Factor may once have had'.

LOL, that poll also had 10% of people saying that it never had any credibility.

Hmmm... doesn't leave a lot does it?

Yes, I know that. The point was that the overwhelming public opinion seems to be that Cowell has damaged the programme's credibility with his decision on Sunday.

It had little credability to start with but Simon despite his criticisms and the fact he wanted the show to be about him, normally voted for the singer with the best voice. 2 weeks running he hasn't done this and while it has no doubt boosted media coverage (and the public talking about it), I hope he feels he has lost some credibility over it.

His speech will no doubt be a contrite apology mixed in with the fact that people need to vote for their favourite (I have always voted for Lucie, so I feel the right to be outraged). All the while he destroyed an 18 year old girls dream on the stage last week and looked smug while doing it.

I would prefer people to boycott it and boost Strictlys ratings, then watch the x-factor if they feel they need to on youtube or off the website. That'll hit him where it hurt.

I won't be satisfied with an explanation on the X Factor. He should at least sit before a Parliamentary Select Committee and be cross-examined.
