Quiz Ideas wanted

Hi

Can anyone help?

I usually set a quiz for my work colleagues running up to Christmas. The quiz has about 150 questions that hopefully can’t be answered by typing a simple question into Google etc. (prior to the internet boom the quiz started as 100 lyrics from songs). The quiz is issued to all competing office teams and they have about 10 days to collate their answers. Usually the winning team gets about 99% correct so I have to ensure the questions are “fun” but with the odd hard one to find a winner.

Each year we raise about £200 through entry fees which goes to the winning team’s chosen charity. The winning team have the pleasure of the prestige for winning the quiz.

In the past I’ve used photo’s of TV Programmes, Album Covers, Company Logos, mini-pops, pictures of sweets, cryptic clues to local towns, anagrams of pop artistes, and photo’s of British landmarks. Some I created myself and some were borrowed from friends outside work. This year my sources have not come up with any new ideas, so I am open to new suggestions.

Can you help please?

Any ideas and suggestions would be grateful, but they have to be reasonably fun to do and something that could appeal to most folk. I'd need say 50 questions over three subjects or 30 questions over five subjects etc

Thanks in advance

Building on the photograph idea, have you considered using just a very small part of a photograph and they have to say what the whole picture is. You can use famous buildings, landscapes, maps, paintings and the like.

I did a kind of cryptic dogs one once. I had Jerry Springer (spaniel), Chris Eubank (boxer), A toilet and Sue Lawley for a shitzu, and Hans Christian Anderson, who is of course, a Great Dane

I've also done a drinks one before with Alec Guinness and Karl Lagerfeld among others.

How about pictures of old toys and games like speak and spell and the six million dollar man?

This site does those excel spreadsheets of pictures. Always good for ideas. http://www.quizardry.com/

Thanks for all your replies

I've got some good ideas from the suggestions and links you've posted so it looks like I'll be able to produce another varied quiz this year.

If anyone else has ideas please feel free to post more.

Cheers

By chance in another thread in TV Programmes I included this show in my all time top 5 UK TV Programmes.

"Pickles" springs to mind here

A brilliant comedy, love every episode.Only thing that comes close is Father Ted.

Shame that there are only two series, now it's been about 5 years since the last one not sure that Craig and Phil will be writing any more?Hope they do though.

To the regiment,I wish I was there.
