Borderline Personality Disorder

Does anyone have any experience of this?

How did you get diagonised?

I feel that I might have it, but not sure where to go from here.

I have suffered from depression in the past, and have spent time in hospital for it, but at the moment I'm not that depressed, just fed up.

I'm in a loving relationship, but feel that whatever I have is ruining it.

I have a doctors appt next week, but just want to hear views from others.

Thanks

Dear Free as a Bird,

Please take my advice and do not get diagnosed with this....it is a mental health deathsentance.

I was mistakenly diagnosed with it since 2000, the health profs, do not care about you if you are, they dont bother to treat you and just hand out ant-d's. This is my personal experience.

Since being diagnosed with Bi-Polar - well its completely different they treat me better, listen to what I have to say...

Enough though....if you need to know you are Borderline then I guess you need to know.... but for me it has been agony.

With regards to the Borderline diagnosis:

The standard questions are:-

Do you have black and white thinking? is somone who you perceive as good changes and you think they are now totally evil.

Do you break friendships and relationships before people can hurt you?

Do you feel empty all of the time?

Were you abused sexually as a child?

Do you spend too much money

Do you act impulsively without thought or thinking things through?

Are you an addict or do you have an addictive personality?

Do u engage in risky behaviour?

These are the main ones I beleive.

They are very similar to Bi-Polar.

Pm if you want.

ps. it is a label that will NEVER go away as far as the mental health prof are concerned.
Emx
