Got to agree.

I'm no lover of Gordon Brown, but it sickens me when someone like Nick Ferrari, who was too spineless to run for the London Mayorship, because he was worried about press intrusion into his private life, never ceases to miss an opportunity to attack Mr Brown over really petty & personal issues & give him advice on how he should be running the country.

I want to see Mr Ferrari put up & stand for public office in some capacity, or shut his mouth & carry on with the otherwise excellent job he is doing with the breakfast show.

No idea, chin. I was quite a few ahead of the pack at one time. Perhaps if His Foamarship is still counting, he could give us an update.

Ooh err! Part 9 of the thread already? Didn't part 8 only start at the end of August?

His Foamarship deigns to contact us here directly. Instead he relies on Martin to update us.

The Max is in for Petrie next week, and I see Petrie is in for Jeni on Monday. So Im assuming Jeni is off for the week?

Shucks, Part 9 already? This means I am no longer at the helm of LBC Chit Chat. That was quick !!!

Still catching up with H which means daytime LBC rarely gets a look in. Can hardly believe he has had so many calls about X Factor from people who are genuinely aggrieved by the Tintin looky-likey, glue-sniffing Twins not being booted out of X Factor on Sunday. HELLO....?

I despair sometimes.

Edit: Congrats to Syntax Error. You have to do the evil laugh now. Tradition etc.

Yes, Petrie said yesterday that she was covering for Jeni all week

Hi, I can't raise your quote as we're now on Part 9 of the thread.
You questioned whether Downing Street would have given permission for the recording between the PM and the guardsman's mother to be made public. I can't see it being remotely possible either.
I wager, The Sun have released this recording with the knowledge that all concerned @ No:10 would dread the thought of courting any further publicity by launching a lawsuit for possible illegalities.

Jeni always seems to be off. If she's not ill, she is on holiday.

Perhaps they are all just trying to use up their alloted five weeks holiday. Good that Petrie is covering though, she always sounds much more relaxed in the afternoons.

I quite like Jeni, but not 5 days a week. I'm surprised she has lasted in her current slot this long.

I can think of a few suitable candidates who could fill this afternoon slot easily.

I'm confused by this five weeks alloted holiday. I thought LBC presenters were freelance. If so, surely they only get paid for the hours they work, therefore they can take as much or as less holiday as they wish?

Maybe. I always thought that LBC presenters invoiced for hours/shows each month and were , essentially, self employed.

CB always used to say if they didn't work they didn't earn.

There may be a provision for them to take a maximum allocation of holiday weeks each year but I would be suprised if the majority of presenters are payed for them.

Having said that, I wouldn't be suprised if, for instance, NF has some built in paid breaks in his contract.

Edit: Much as S-H has just said!

People tend to forget that Gordon Brown lost a child of his own and even imply that he wouldn't be sympathetic to another parent in the same position is deplorable.
Nick Ferrari and the Sun owe Mr Brown an apology.

Ooer, I'm in the middle of defragging my much fraggled laptop. I thought for a minute I'd defragged the thread too, something only me and Shirl could manage to do!

When I saw post No 1 I felt sure I was responsible!!

I agree. Having read the letter I couldn't see the twenty five spelling mistakes. Brown's handwriting is terrible but what an awful situation he was put in. How can one argue about spelling with a woman who's lost her son?

Downmarket tabloid journalism at it's worst, and The Sun wasn't much better!

Quite possible Wolfie, and I've probably sent you hundreds of pictures of my grandsons! I've probably grounded several Boeing 747 aeroplanes as well with my lack of computer skills.

Just checked the website and you are named as head of NASA. Only JR and Obama have positions with more responsibility! Oh and Spenceboyle and her website (as usual)

Until Anthony mentioned the five week holiday thing last week, I had always thought the same, grim. I'm pretty sure he didn't take that much holiday last year so maybe it's a fairly recent arrangement.
