John and Edward are real people, y'know!

I really think it's unfair how we're getting all these articles saying 'Simon regrets his decision' and 'Ofcom gets complaints', and then threads on here suggesting that J and E should quit!

Don't forget, they're people too; fair enough be upset for Lucie, but it was the public that sent her home. John and Edward stand on that stage every week and get booed by the X Factor Groundlings and are now also going to have to deal with the ideas that Simon wishes he'd sent them home, and that people blame them for Lucie leaving. It wasn't their fault!

And yet, despite being treated so badly, they won't do the whole Danyl-esque 'I'm a broken man' thing.

They may be funny, resilient and determined, but they're not unbreakable!

I don't generally start many threads, there just weren't many pro-Jedward threads on the page atm, and then I saw the article about SC saying he regretted his decision, and it annoyed me a bit ^_^

So are all the contestants.

I agree with what your saying but I find it hypocriticial when people post stop attacking so and so its not right. Yet, they gleefully attack another contestant.

Edit - this last paragraph is not aimed at a particular person just in general.

They must be pretty thick skinned to put up with this week in week out OR they really do feel they are talented , I really hope they are in on the joke as a lot suggest otherwise they are going to get one hell of a bump to earth soon.

most of the contestants and judges have spoken out about them being nice people.. so i don't actually think that the public hate them as human beings.

But its more of that they really really awful singers/dancers and shouldn't really be on a show that is about finding talented singers.

Chicken man was a real person also should he of been put into the final so people could laugh at him? Of course not and neither should the twins.

I do get the impression they are not aware of how badly they are being exploited. I wonder if we'll be reading retrospective threads when they finally get the boot and find themselves cut loose in the real world tainted to be Jedward for the rest of their lives. Anyone remember what happened to Heresay? That was not pretty and im surprised responsible TV producers haven't cottoned on to this.

On xtra factor one of the twins didn't even seem to know what the word backlash meant...

i noticed that after lucie got the verdict, dermot turned to ask one of the twins [nearest the camera] if he feared a backlash, and he didn't seem to get it, there was a ripple of laughter from the crowd. it must have embarassed his brother. they're not that thickskinned, and certainly not thick, which the audience appeared to think.

I agree- I don't think it is the GP treating J and E the worst, it's the programme itself. But then, my eyes were opened up a bit after I read Ben Elton's Chart Throb, haha.

I think he knew what the word meant, he just hadn't considered it happening.

Everyone always says that twins live in a world of their own, but i'm genuinely not sure whether that'll be a help or a hindrance to them. I do think that Louis has their best interests at heart, and will hope to see them right after the show.

I do think that every week they look a little bit more ground-down by the whole thing: I couldn't have dealt with it at 18...

They apologised to Dannii as well last week, bless them, which they shouldn't have to do. It was the programme that put them through, knowing exactly what would happen, and it is the public keeping them in.

Dont Be Ridiculous!!

Of course they are not real people, they are imbeciles!

As for them getting up on stage every week and getting slated, they should be, they're crap.

How could their parents let them do this, dont they have any shame or any concern for their sons.

They have been hated where they live for years and yet their parents thought it would be a good idea to let the rest of the UK hate them too?

It s a sad day when parents are prepared to let their kids make utter fools of themselves and be genuinely hated for money!

Hated, seriously? Seriously? For having oddball hairstyles and outlandish dress sense?

And for years? They're 18 now, so you're saying they've been hated by the public in their town since they were, oh, let's say 13?

Truly we are in the presence of evil!

I like them, and I'll be doing extra votes for them this week. Don't care about all the haters out there. If it wasn't for them you'd all be comatosed by the rest of the acts by now.

The hatred for those boys is appalling but hopefully they can cope with it. :/ They are very young to be dealing with all the crap that has been slung at them. Someone on Twitter has been sending out links to this site and the site owner says he would hit the boys in real life if he got the chance. It's really disgusting. All the boys have done is take part in a Saturday night entertainment show. The way some people are going on about them you'd think they go around mugging old ladies! I certainly feel the level of booing and hate from the audience will be even worse next weekend. It has now become fashionable to blame the twins on everything, and they are seen as "fair game" for booing and heckling by the audience (everyone else in the competition deserves to be cheered of course).

It's not their fault that they keep being voted through. If the audience vote for them then they have the right to be on the show. What I can't bear is the audience booing. It's like going back a few hundred years to public hanging! However thick your skin, at some point it has to hurt. They are only eighteen.

If you want to blame anyone blame Simon, he's using and abusing them (literally) for his own gain.

I don't see why anyone needs to be blamed for their participation. They are in the show because people vote for them.

Yes they are real people - don't think anyone doubted it.

Strikes me they've come out unscathed (as they should) and that all the vitriol is towards SC. Oh so SC maybe regretting his decision - what's the problem? It's hardly like they're in a worse position than they've ever been.

I really don't understand all this 'hate' stuff directed at John and Edward. It's not just a disliking it's pure hatred. Where has it come from?

I mean if they were really nasty personality wise then I could understand some of it but all I've seen is two lovely lads trying their best and living their dream, every Saturday.
They may not be to everyones liking but honestly I can't believe the amount of grief they are getting.

I want to give them both a great big hug.
