Email from Talk Talk

Forgot to mention, I had a nice email 'from' Charles Dunstone (head honcho chappie at Carphone Warehouse/Talk Talk) a couple of days ago letting me know that my service was to be moved to the TT network and that everything would be staying the same.

The email went on to inform me that my TV service in particular would be remaining unmolested & that TT were in fact committed to improving the service which, if true is somewhat reassuring..

I just wondered whether I am I a bit late in receiving this email, as I seem to remember others a while back saying that they'd heard something similar?

Whatever, as long as they're intent on keeping the telly service going I shall remain a happy bunny..

I thought it was a repeat, maybe they've been bombarded with frightened Tiscali customers whose spam filters caught the first one

Not that Tiscali customers usually show up in any number

Improving the tv service...

...I've heard that one before - 4 years with HC / Tiscali /now CW
Hardly any new channels
Waited over 2 years for HD service still hasn't arrived (Not even BBC HD?)
Sky's Xmas offer has made me seriously consider leaving...

This e-mail just relays what it says on the website at the moment. I do hope that the invest in the TV service, i love the VoD stuff! While HD would be nice, and the HD menu system is a step in the right direction, the most important thing for me, is the introduction of Digital Text and Red Button Services, as we really are misisng out compared to other platforms!

We shall wait and see!

Couldn't agree more!

However, I expect to be disappointed - we've heard it all before

Ta for the info re the email - here's hoping that Talk Talk really are serous about pushing the television service - it deserves a wider audience in my (very humble) opinion.

If TalkTalk sponsor next year's X Factor, I wonder if we'll get anything special from that?

That's a real blow - it's almost as bad as if the BBC was spending my money on something as corrupt and crass.

Hear hear,

However, if they use the branding to bring attention to the TV service then that can't be a bad thing I suppose..

Inside info on the tv service. For now it is staying as Tiscali TV, however talktalk have recently employed a new head of television so that can only mean there is something big being planned for the tv service.

Talktalk are also currently testing fiber optic networks for residential customers too
