Could Simon & The Producers Undo what they did?

I was thinking if Simon and the producers think that Lucy shouldn't have gone could they turn round and say that they have changed their mind (or simon has)?

I don't think they could but wondered what other people thought.

Btw sorry if this has been posted before didn't see it if it has

They could becuase nobody has actually voted to get rid of her. If they had, then it would be a different story because those people would (rightly) be up in arms demanding their money back.

He would never do it though. We've seen this week that he's the sort of man who doesn't feel guilty for his actions.

I would never vote again if he did. What's the point of the public voting if he is going to overrule it and change the decision.

He made his decision, the public said Lucie should go. End of. I cant belief the people of this country sometimes. The year before last they were moaning that the judges got the last decision and it should always be the public that decides.

The whingers will ruin this show the way they ruined BB.

No - that would be a ridiculous thing to do and would certianly contravene the voting rules and result in a big fine from Ofcom. Mostly though, it would just be stupid.

regardless of whether he regrets his decision, at the end of the day she had the less amount of public votes so no he couldn't undo the decision.

And imagine if Lucie was reinstated only to end up in the sing off again...? Tough.

Wasn't there a wildcard thing on AI this year where one week the judges saved an act eho had got the least votes?

Do you realise how unlikely that would be though? The huge number of people who have been incensed by her ejection would prevent that happening again.

There is no way Cowell can undo last weeks result. However (as Mr Cowell often says!) when the boys are in the bottom two again, he can redeem himself a little by voting against them. Whether he will or not remains to be seen.

Anyway, Lucie won't be reinstated. The result on Saturday was a sheer travesty but it would be wrong to put any contestant back in the competiton after they were given the boot, regardless of how unjust it was. Don't get me wrong, it was the WRONG result in every way possible but Simon didn't break any rules.

It would be grossly unfair on the twins seeing as Lucie received fewer votes than them.

If you think SC is the most hated man in Britain, then you really need to get out more or read some decent papers!!

There's no way Lucie is coming back.
Firstly because she was voted out fairly, even though apparently half the country must have voted for her, given the tantrums ,
and secondly because Lucie has proved herself to be a real lady over the last few days and I doubt she would want to take John and Edwards place - which is what you are suggesting. She has been far more gracious than her fans sadly.

Wow, there is no need to attack me. It's only an opinion.

The reason I stated that Simon is the most hated man in Britain is because he is. Please name me one person, in this current time where the public have taken a great dislike to other than Simon. I think you'll struggle. It's the same as Louis Walsh when he kept the Conway sisters over Maria Lawson. Everyone has an opinion on Simon right now and I can't say it's pleasent. X-factor is watched by 13 million people, therefore generating more talk and hostility over Sundays results.

Though just because he is currently the most hated, it doesn't mean he is the most evil. Let's get that straight.

I think that's giving the X Factor a little too much credit and overplaying its importance.

As much as I disliked what he did, which was a pure selfish act to keep his boys, Lucie didn't get the public votes so she was out.
They wanted the twins over her. Why I really don't get, but that's the way it is.

Sorry wrong quote. I'm agreeing with you!
And I agree with you

The disproportionate response of some XFactor viewers on these boards is just....... I can't even find the right word. It does make me wonder if they get so worked up about real things, that are happening in their real world. FFS people, it's a TV show!

Unlikelieness in the X Factor these days isn't something I'd be shocked by.

I doubt it hugely but then again I wouldn't be totally surprised if they moved the goal posts yet again....Another week of incensed people (from the other side) and a whole lot of press - just what they appear to want!

Oh and Simon looking contrite to boot. And I mean looking - because of course he wouldn't be at all.

The way to spin this would be to offer Lucie her place back on the show, which she would then publically turn down.

In return (and in secret) she would be released from her contractual obligations to Syco - allowing her to freely pursue other opportunities (but still doing the Tour and other Syco things if she wants to).

It wouldn't erase Cowell's contemptuous deception of the viewers, but might claw back some goodwill.
