3d on ch4 next week

theres some good stuff on ch4 next week on their 3d week, but it would appear that if you want to watch it you'l have to get the free glasses from sainsburys. as there isnt one in my town i hope the others i have collected over the years work.

The glasses are a special type called "colorcode".

Basically blue/amber. Blue over the right eye.

Any blue amber filters will work, I tried some from a filter gel swatch (used in the tv/film lighting world to colour the white lights for effects)

I tried various shades of blue and deep yellow and found a pair that worked, although I was in Stockport today and picked up some of the actual specs from Sainsbury anyway.

This is the website of the company that came up with this colour combo:

http://www.colorcode3d.com/

They have a gallery of images/videos to test your 3D specs on.

Fat lot of good for me. I have a dodgy left eye which means I am unable to avail myself of 3D films and television

Is there an actual listing of programmes in 3D yet, as I only seen adverts for royal related bollox like the Zombies crowning in 3D

That's great that, the closest Sainsbury's is 5.5 miles from me in a town i rarely visit, and i've never stepped foot in a Sainsbury's store in my puff.

Why couldn't they have also made them available in Tesco, Asda, etc.

Even a pair free with some tv mag!

Available on Ebay for around £3

Search for colorcode 3d or 3d glasses

Make sure they are suited for the CH4 programmes since these specs need Blue/Amber coloured filters. The trade name is colorcode

Red/Blue filters won't work.

It should be a lot of fun, but as others have mentioned in another thread, it might do a disservice to 3D, in that the ColourCode system is nowhere near as good as the polarised systems used in cinemas and Sky's 3D channel next year.

If anyone still has their Chuck 3D glasses, you can use them.

Am i reading it correctly? The Coronation in 3D? Wow. Blimey.

Usually, things in 3D have to stop occasionally so a large-breasted woman can jiggle at the camera, or so someone can drop a bag of oranges down a staircase. There'll be none of that with Her Maj on telly.

It's a pretty dreary line-up of programmes, I expected more.

Maybe a 3D programme from each of the CH4 group channels each night giving several 3D programmes each night would still have left the majority of programmes in 2D.

It's more of a 3D sampler than an actual week.

Is anyone else having difficulty getting these glasses in Sainsbury's? I've just been down to my local branch, which is quite a big one, and expected them to be on display somewhere around the entrance or perhaps near the TV guides. I couldn't see any anywhere.

Near the bottom a link to show exempted stores.

Maybe some stores don't display them because of theft?

Apparently part of the Paul o' Grady Show is to be in 3D but I have not seen it confirmed.

It's such a pathetic effort from CH4 that I'm starting to think it's just a marketing thing to tie-in with the release of the 3D film "Avatar" in the near future.

If during "3D week" Ch4 show any promotional material for Avatar then I will probably complain to Ofcom.

CH4 are not the broadcaster they used to be, that's for sure.

Are there going to be any good programmes in 3D? I've got my glasses ready.

Edit - here's a list

http://www.channel4.com/programmes/t...eek-programmes

I'll probably watch the horror films.

At least now we know who it is, sitting around waiting for the very possibility that something might happen they can complain about. Still, at least it keeps you off the streets.

Indeed. I too have an issue with my eyesight which renders any kind of 3D completely useless to me

NO.

As many threads and people have mentioned (do a search please) it is the colorcode ones. That means left eye is a yellow/brown colour and right eye is a purple/blue colour.

Ones used for Chuck on virgin 1 will work.
or get ones from sainsbury's. They are norm ally by the help desk. If not there, then ask the help desk. Its that easy.

Thanks for your reply /

Incidently I use the search option when I have time although it isn't the all singing, dancing wonder many claim it to be - in my experience !
