Lucy punching Jay

was pathetic. Sure it was in the nose, but it was barely harder than a tap, and Jay getting a bloody nose for that was unrealistic. I guess EE would be paronoid with the complaints about the punch being 'too hard'.

He's an actor, not a stuntman, he can't take real, hard hits.

Exactly what I thought! And that wouldn't have made him fall over unless it was a real shock and he was asking her to do it literally so I'm guessing it wasn't so I reckon they just did it to make it look more dramatic.

You don't have to punch someone hard for real to make it look like a decent punch.

Very few punches in soap are realistic. I'm sure there have been far worse looking punches than the one tonight.

You mean like when Shelley Unwin "punched" Peter Barlow in Corrie and her fist stopped about ten miles from his face and a sound effect was slapped on?

There's always someone who has to complain about something.

I've certainly seen a lot more realistic punches in soaps than the one tonight.

The slaps are the best ones

It looked like to me she punched him on the side of nose, she caught him off gaurd, so yeah, it probably would bleed in real life, who cares anyway, tis not real.

I remember in Hollyoaks when Calvin punched Nige, man that was even more pathetic.

Oh gosh yes! So bad but hilarious at the same time.

Also when Rosie went to slap Michelle but ended up punching Luke instead.

Yeah but it was before 9pm and it wasn't a huge scene just to take a risk for.

Tanya's slap to Stacey on Christmas Day in 07' was probably the best slap I have seen Ok it's not a punch.

Sometimes they just do slaps pretty much for real. I bet with that Tanya one they just went for it.

The most amusing punches for me were when Jim McDonald punched Vernon at his wedding. The sound effects were priceless!
