Connect the Sky box to the TV using an HDMI lead, that will give you the best picture quality.

Then connect the Sky box to your surround sound system using a Digital Optical lead, thats your sound sorted.

You will have to go into the Sky box menu and turn on the 'digital out' setting, think its under "sound" or "audio" in the settings menu.

You didn't mention if your home cinema system had a built in DVD, If it does then you can use the component output to connect your TV.

Pilot thanks for your help so far. Yes the home cinema does have a built in DVD.

So are you saying to connect the surround sound to the TV via component video.

Will I need to do anything to the settings.

Thx Mark

Edit: Yes, you can connect the video output of the DVD player in the HC system to the TV, by using the three red green and blue component video connections.

For your game system continue with the HDMI.
