Why was Lucie so unpopular?
Lucie was booted from the show on Sunday after polling the fewest votes...I had predicted her exit earlier in the week so I was not surprised to see it happen...but what was it that made her so unpopular with the voting public?
I think it's because she didn't have the passion or charisma...she was a decent singer but there was no flair or creativity...John and Edward have that in abundance... |

I think it was the fact she didn't have male genitalia or didn't act like a div. Thus...no personality or "connection" with the British public.

She certainly suffered by not being male....the teenage girl vote must be alive and well.
Agree with Louis that it was an injustice she was bottom 2 ; she sounded much more contemporary and current than singers like Olly,Jamie and Lloyd on the Saturday show. |

I didn't have an opinion of her.
I liked some performances I hated some performances. She also ranked in the middle for me so I didn't want her out but I'd never have voted for her. I assume a lot of people felt the same way? |

Who is Lucie?
Joking aside, most of the songs they gave her were crap ones that no one knows. They also made her sing without wearing shoes - the kiss of death for anyone's X Factor tenure. No one has won the show after performing with inadequate footwear. I really hope Danyl forgets to put his sandals on next time. |

Me and OH felt the same way about her. Nice girl, decent voice...but did nothing for us really.

I also think the song choice was awful.
Camp Rock?? I'm not 10-15 years old ![]() Perhaps they were going for the kid vote, but I don't think kids can vote as many times as the rest of us

I don't think she was unpopular. After all it's the first time she's been in the bottom two.
Just like Laura White and Maria Lawson, the public assumed she was safe. |

She wasn't unpopular, the fact that it's a vote to keep in means you can't say she's unpopular, only that she got less votes than the other acts.
The only way to judge if an act is unpopular would be to have a vote to evict, and based on the reaction to the twins staying by fans of all the other acts over the last few days I'd guess that it would be a pretty good bet that J & E would top that vote by a long way.... |

I would say song choice (Dannii has to shoulder some of the blame here) and that she probably wasn't a favourite for a lot of people. Perhaps she was second or third favourite, as she was for me behind Danyl and Olly.

Because hardly anyone over the age of ten in the uk likes the sort of cheesy Miley Cyrus esque crap she was singing.
She's like a character from a disney film

Yes you hit the nail on the head. I had her down for the final - think she was way ahead of a lot of the others. She has the whole package, good voice, nice personality and gorgeous looks. I definitely think the public assumed she was safe.

It's a silly argument op that this point of the competition anyone could be in the bottom 2 like Danyl was. Jls were in bottom 2 at one point last year does that make them unpopular

I wouldn't say she was 'so unpopular'.. out of 5 weeks, she polled the lowest votes once. We all know how unpredictable the voting has been so far this year, so i just think it's down to people not voting enough/presuming their favourite is safe. I loved Rachel, but i would give class her as 'so unpopular' rather than Lucie, as she was in the bottom 2 three out of four times.

It's because she didn't have a personality orchestrated for her, the rest did. All Lucie was presented as was a talented singer and performer. Not good enough for the X Factor that is built on personalities. |

I put it down to song choice...even though I think she sang it very well, anyone over the age of about 16 won't know the song. If Dannii really wanted her to do a Disney song, it would've been better to do something more like "Breaking Free", as I'd say it's a bit more well known, and it got to #9 in the UK

I thought her voice was pretty decent and she had a good look, but I had the same problem Simon had with her . . . her performances seemed like poor acting rather than being into the song. I never thought she had a spark of stage presence. I generally quite liked watching her, but this week I thought she was awful across the board.
