Is this tattooist breaking the law ?
A friend of mine was just telling me that a tattooist he normally goes to has buggered up his latest tattoo as well as his girlfriends tattoo.
He recently foundout that the tattooist in question is going through the hormonal treatment as she is becoming a he & the meds are affecting her artistic judgement. Should she even be allowed to continue her work as an artist because of this ? |

Actually, a tattooist needs a license because of the tools used and the fact that they dealing with people's health, albeit indirectly. While the drawing mistakes might not be covered, the ability to be totally 100% on the actual needling / anaesthetic work might be called into question. Report the parlour to your local environment health or even local health authority and they will make their own judgement.
I wouldn't be too happy about someone who forgets to sterilise a needle, or jabs a needle in the wrong place simpy because of a hormonal breakdown. |

Hormones are a tricky business and can affect a person as much as drugs. :/

I recommend Saz in Manchester if you are round that way. He is one of the best there is.

I can confirm that. The individual I knew who was transgendering wasn't a tattooist, but it sure as heck affected their judgement in some very strange ways. It's a pretty major life change, one would expect it to have effects even without the hormones.

There's a tattooist by me who is sh*t to say the least.. many people have thought of reporting him but so long as he has a license for the tattoo gun and the H&S regulations are met, I've been told the actual artistic ability doesn't come into account - stupid hey!
I would imagine that it's the same for this lady/guy! |

Any tattooist that you can walk in off the street and get one done straight away isn't worth going to.
Find one where there is a 6 month wait or more and you wont be disappointed. |
