Sony 40z5500

Hello!
Just purchased the Sony Z5500 40 inch. Motion flow definitely worth going for. Blu-ray has a whole new dimension.
Having a problem finding remote codes (not included in the user guide) for:

Sony Home Theatre System-multi channel receiver KS1100

Sony DVD Recorder HXD970

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks. TBJ

Hi T-J,

I was looking at the Z5500, would you recommend?
Anything you are not happy with?

Thanks HKA

Hi,
The Z5500 is an excellent television. 200 htz certainly makes all the difference. Go get one, hook up Blu-Ray, select Film Mode 1 in the menu sequence and watch the amazing picture.
Cheers.

Re. Remote codes. Are you using the Sony TV remote or are you trying to program another remote.

Hello Soul,
We're trying to programme the TV remote so it will operate other Sony equipment.
With a previous 'W' series Sony TV, we were supplied with codes in the manual for Sony Theatre surround system and Sony Freeview recorder.
The current Z5500 comes with no codes!! Grrr.

I have an X series Sony and it's remote is already programmed to operate other Sony equipment. The buttons along the top below the green on/off [O/I] marked [BD][DVD][Amp] enable the operation of the respective equipment.

Pressing the DVD button should allow you to operate the HXD970 recorder (I have the HXD870). The bottom of the remote has a cover that slides down to reveals some DVD record function buttons.

I don't have a Sony home theatre system in the room so can't vouch if the [Amp] does the same. There is also a Theatre sync button which works through the HDMI connection with the home theatre system, if it supports it.
