Do you know what would be comical?
Okay, so I've read a lot of snide and cutting remarks directed at people who were pissed off in regards to what Simon did last Sunday. They have been accused of having no lives and not having the bottle to vote with their feet and boycott the X Factor.
Well, do you know what would be awesome? If the public decmated Simon's category over the next three weeks. First Jamie gone. Then Danyl gone. Then finally Olly. Then we'd have a Stacey -vs- Joe, the most bland but possible final outside of taking Simon's acts out of the equation. It's what Simon would truly deserve, a shit final that not even half of 14 million would tune in to watch. |

Yes it would be absolutely hilarious, that good acts would go out simply because people think Simon is an idiot!
In that scenario, I know who the idiots and hypocrites would be and it wouldnt be Simon Cowell. All this talk of Jamie/Danyl/Olly somehow taking the heat for Simon's "hypocrisy" is nothing more than childish. If none of the overs are your favourites, or you just don't want to vote at all, fine. If however, they ARE your favourite and you have been voting for them for that reason, there is absolutely no excuse for suddenly deserting them based on something Simon has done. For a start Simon would not give a flying hoot if it was a Stacey/Joe final. And if you think he would, you are sadly mistaken. |

Why? Out of all the likely final scenarios this would the most boring one. I definitely wouldn't spend my Saturday night watching those two battle it out and I'm sure there are millions who feel the same. Namely the people who are only watching because of Jedward. I'm sure Cowell doesn't want to end the show on a ratings whimper. Also, in this final Stacey would win, and we all know that the last thing Simon wants come Christmas is a third female singer on his books.

Stacey has a lot of fans, as does Joe. Stacey and Joe are the 2nd/3rd favourites of a lot of other people. The viewing figures would have to drop by a good few million on finals night for any of them to take any notice, and sorry I just don't think its going to happen. If Stacey wins, Simon will give her the contract, do the initial releases, and if she doesnt do well will drop her like hotcakes and market the finalists he DOES want. Everyone knows it. Really, people need to get real. Simon doesnt give a flying fig who wins and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to really think it through again. Plus, my original point was completely valid. If you vote for a particular act to "spite" Simon, you become as hypocritical and idiotic as he is. |

I'm not saying Stacey isn't talented, I actually hope she wins, I just don't see much going for her after the show. Re: your original point who cares anymore? He's made a farce out of his show at this stage, I think we should give him a farcical winner.

You can choose to attempt to give him a farcial winner if you like, but then you are just as bad as he is, if not worse.
People who vote should vote ONLY for their favourite, either of whichever night it is, or overall if you like to support one act to the end. Its the only way to be fair to the acts. And THEY have done nothing wrong except get up on stage every week and give their all to entertain us. Anyone who votes to "spite" Simon, or in any way gives ANY of the remaining acts a hard time because of what has happened need not bother trying to justify themselves to me. I know exactly the type of people they are. Either don't vote at all, switch off, or be as fair as you wanted SC to be. Anything else makes a fallacy of the original arguement. |

I suppose everyone who votes for Jedward do so because they are genuinely their favourite act?

Besides thats not the point. The point is, what we as individuals do in reaction to what happened on Sunday. I will be carrying on with the support of my favourite who has not yet left the competition. I do this every year, and Simon Cowell's actions or inactions are not going to change that. |

I don't always bother to watch the rest - it's just background noise as I don't particularly care for any of them but J & E get my full attention!
