Let’s put it behind us and talk about a potential winner

I’m loving Olly at the moment and think he does have the potential to win although I don’t know what his longevity would be.

This article also thinks he could be in with a chance but wonders if Olly Murs odds have peeked too soon.

Any thoughts?

I hope he's not peaked too soon. I think Olly has a pretty good shot - he's a great performer and he has that all important likeable personality. I think anyone has a shot this year. It's pretty open.

I do also really like Danyl and hope he gets through to the final.

The only one I cannot see winning at this stage is Jamie. The others all have a good chance of winning

I can see only really olly or joe winning may be wrong but thats what i feel.

I have a feeling olly is more popular so he may just win it.

I think both of them are very good...joe is the better singer but kinda boring with olly the much better performer.

The probelm with this year its just no matter who wins between olly, joe, danyl or stacie it will be a dull winner and a dull final.

I have a strong feeling that whoever wins will fade pretty fast, joe has a very good shot at the west end.

The real winners will be jedward anyway

If they release a Christmas single I would buy it

I have no doubt they will release an Xmas single, but I do have doubts about their longevity also unless they move from 'singing' to kids TV.

Really? Despite being one of the only ones who hasn't been in the bottom two?

I think Lloyd is the only one who can't win, for everyone else it's wide open.

I'd like to see Jamie or Danyl - I think Olly has been competent, nothing more. But I have a feeling it won;t be either Jamie or Danyl and this year don't yet get any sense of a 'frontrunner'.

Olly hasn't done anything for me so far. He doesn't have a great voice at all.

I think Olly will defo make the final, but I can see Joe nipping in and taking the title. Joe has been one of these guys who has just sailed through without much media coverage or hype, he isn't my favourite, but I think he has a good chance of winning.

I wanted Lucie to win but now THATS over..... *still mad*

Stacey and Joe are the two I'm liking the most. Ollie might have a solid voice but I find his performances rather boring, he's never jumped out at me and I've found no enjoyment in watching him. And Jamie is so one-dimensional, I never liked him from the first audition (and I'm still mad at Simon for putting him through instead of one of the 2 fantastic women in his final 6!) and as for Danyl, although it's through no fault of his own has come across as a try-too-hard all the way through, which is quite tiresome now.

To be honest, I don't really care anymore. I may not even watch it this week, I still feel let down

I still think Danyl can win. Danyl for me, is the only one who has really stood out. If not Danyl though, I am still expecting an Over 25's winner.

I cant see any of those remaining having a long term big career

Joe will probably do well on the stage - but I dont know whether he'll have big long term appeal.

Lloyd has the look of a popstar and is IMO the most marketable act there that I can see being in magazines etc - but thats because of his look really - his voice is OK but quite limited and not helped by the crazy themes.

John and Edward - Will have a good TV career and prob have a novelty song out, but can't see them being a long term successful artist.

Olly - Good performer, but I just cannot see him selling a huge amount of albums etc, I see a touch of the Steve Brookstein here.

Jamie - Good look, however if he wants to establish himself as a rocker then X Factor is hardly the right place to do it.

Stacey - Can't see her handling fame very well, nice girl, bit irratating - but can you honestly see her on a sold out tour trying to talk to the audience etc etc.

Danyl - Good voice, but again can anyone honestly see him selling thousands of albums - he's not very popular with the press anyway - It wont change if he wins

Well I think Joe would be more sellable and probably stick around for longer but think he would be perfectly placed in the wet end.

Both Danyl and Olly have potential but for different reasons. Danyl has a great voice and Olly has entertainment factor.

Don't know how well either would sell in the long term though.

It was never in front of me as I was happy with the totally fair result in the first place.

Potential winner: Olly
Disastrous winner: Danyl

I think it's a shame he's going the rocker route. I know his look and vocals go along with that genre but the best 2 performances he has done imo are the ballads.

i hope you aren't including crying in that because it was painfully bad.

None of them deserve to win yet as they haven't done anything particularly good but i can see Olly running away with it. He's doing decent performances every week and he seems to be getting the support of the newspapers.

I think looking at this years contenders whoever wins will not go on to any great success.

If Danyl wins I foresee another Steve Brookstein type, as he strikes me as the sort who would eventually come to loggerheads with Cowell and Co and would attract negative press (as he already has attracted loads of negative press already!)

If Olly wins he will probably get a couple of singles and of course the obligatory album, but I just can't see him setting the charts alight. He is likeable and does try to put on a good show but he isn't distinctive enough IMHO to stand out as a solo artist in todays music business.

If Stacey wins again she will probably get a couple of singles and the album, but again she is not distinctive enough as a singer to go head to head with the other solo female artists out there.

The rest are just fodder really!

Lloyd isn't a strong singer and doesn't have much of a range. His dancing is painfully wooden and although he has tried he just doesn't have a flair for it. His looks may garner him some fans but not enough to sustain a solo career. He might fare better if he joined a boy band, just because his poor vocals wouldn't be so exposed then.

Jamie is neither here nor there to me, he wants to be a rocker but he's on X Factor! He's a decent singer but doesn't blow you away. He seems like a nice fellow but I can't see that he has anything original to offer.

Joe is a pleasant sort of lad with a sunny disposition and a decent voice, but as many others have said his talents would probably be better realised in musical theatre. He would be another Leon Jackson type if he did end up winning I think.

That leaves us with Jedward I personally love them they are fun and try to be entertaining. I know they have been set up as the pantomime element of the X Factor this year and they don't have the best voices. However I do see them knocking out a novelty record and achieving some success on TV after all look at Sam & Mark from Pop Idol. I'm not sure about them being the next Ant & Dec but I think the public tide may be turning on them after their £10 million each pay out from ITV. John & Edward would certainly be cheaper to hire!

Nice and indepth nan noo.
I do like Olly but have to agree that there isn't one true star in the contest this year.

I have been warming to Olly in recent weeks.

Would like to see him nail a ballad to prove he has a good enough voice, which I think he has.

If he does that then job done I think.
