What Do You Think Of Jamie?
Louis loved him this last week. After previously calling him a pub rocker, which I have to say I agreed with. I did like him when he auditioned, he seemed very sweet and I thought he sang well. But now he does seem a bit cocky, annoying and ordinary. I don't think his voice is that good. I don't like it when he punches his fist in the air and bends forward for the high note either. Anyway this isn't a slag Jamie off thread. I Just want to know why people like him and are voting for him.

I like Jamie a lot and I think that Simon hasn't given him a fair shot and saddled him with songs that he couldn't make his own and he gave all his attention to his chosen ones Olly and Danyl. (I like them both, but I do think that Simon favours them.)
Also I think that the attacks Jamie gets on here are uncalled for. He thanked his fans on stage last Sunday, thanks us evey week on facebook and Twitter for voting for him, is genuinely shocked that he's safe evey week, all the other contestants, Judges and people back stage love him as a person and have said nothing bad about him, even fans of other actswho meet him say he's lovely but just because he's confident on stage people say he's cocky. Also Simon's let Jamie pick his own song this week, so there won't be any late song choices this week so he have the same time as the others to reherse which hasn't happened since Diva week due to Simon changing his songs all the time. |

Jamie is one of the two acts (thats left) that I do like and look forward to hearing. however, I just don't think he appeals to a lot of people (as a singer not a person as I think he's a cool guy) and I wouldn't even be surprised if he is always third from bottom in the votes and just scrapes it, just a feeling I have. I think he likes to do things his way regardless and doesn't like being told what to do. I don't think he can improve though, I think he peaked when he sang that T-Rex song I thought he was really good singing that but since then has not really done anything for me. As much as I like him, I can't see him winning it as he's not varied enough.

Okay, I see why people like him. We all do like different things, after all. I did prefer him more last week than previously as his other performances have been a bit samey and predictable to me.

Reasons why I like Jamie:
1. He has a good voice which is different to the other contestants on the show 2. He sings with passion and emotion which I rarely see in any talent show contestants 3. His performances are excellent and knows how to connect with the audience 4. He is genuine and comes across as someone who could be a credible artist outside of the show 5. He has shown dedication to music with all the gigs he has played over the past 10 years with his band. 6. He can play an instrument 7. He writes his own songs 8. He is different to anyone who has been on the before 9. He has a nice personality and is outgoing and cheerful. |

I think he's brilliant. He's not cocky at all, I don't even think he's that confident. Have you seen his reaction when he get's through?
I love his voice, it's different and I love his stage prescence. Jamie to win! |

I think that is Simon's fault for giving him a similar type of song for 3 weeks out of 5.

Personally, I don't like him, his performances aren't memorable. Hurt was OK but his voice is ordinary and I really don't like his hair. Regular bloke with a regular voice.

I'm not overly keen on him, I think his best performance was when he sang Hurt. Thought his performance last week was a bit shakey. It's good to have someone different like him in the show, just feel he needs a band behind him or something. (just feel somethings missing)

I feel he is too constrained by 'the show'. Simon doesn't really get what he is about and leaving him to pick his own song could be very good for him.
When he is relaxed and into it, he is great to watch. His audition was fantastic and he has had glimmers of that during the live shows. But I don't think the songs have allowed him to shine so far. His problem this week will be, if he chooses his own song Simon is more likely to put him down as he will then be able to say that he is better at picking songs. Plus, it depends on how much of Queen's work Jamie knows. But he's got a ton to pick from. If he comes out rocking (with something like Tie your mother down or Hammer to Fall) it could be good. If he goes more obscure (Keep yourself alive, Ogre Battle or Tear it Up) it could be absolutely fantastic. And if he decides to go quiet again he should go for 'Love of My Life' and do it as queen did live - acoustic with audience participation. However, if he picks a standard like A kind of magic, We will rock you, Under Pressure, Another one Bites the dust, Flash, Killer Queen or anything from a Greatest Hits album it will just come across as bland again and could be really bad for him. I hope he chooses wisely because I do look forward to seeing him every week. |

I'd enjoy listening to him in a pub, but I don't feel he has the crediblity to be a true rocker recording star. Just by the very nature of being on such a show negates it.

Not much else for me to add because everyone has said it perfectly.
Ever since his audition I knew that he'd be the guy that I was supporting this year. There is just something captivating about him when he performs imo. Plus not only can he sing and play an instrument, but he genuinely seems to be a lovely person. He's always happy for Danyl and Olly when they get through and I've not heard a bad word against him from the other acts (unless I've missed something ).One thing I don't understand is some people saying that some of his fans only support him because he has an afro. It's just a bonus that he has really cool hair. I'd still support him if he got rid of it and that's that.
