Remember its a TV show, not a TALENT show.

People are getting really angry, and personally I dont see why. People are beliveing that it is a TALENT show.

It isnt, and never has been. There are 3 rounds before they see simon and co for their "1st" audition.

So all those terribly bad people you see on tv have got through 3 rounds, where other really talented people have been over looked. This has always been the case.

People should just take a step back and realise this has been happening since it started, its nothing new, nobody complaints about the really talented people passed up in the 1st rounds of auditions for people like Jedward.

Now I appreciate its a TV show, and I watch it as that. Its the same as watching a soap ect.

It is good viewing as long as you realise it is mailny to line cowells pockets, he doesnt care who wins as all the money goes to him anyway. And dannii and cheryl are both their for their own benifit.

It's a TV show?

Well that's not what Simon has been spouting out over the last 5 years.

I know. because he wants people to belive that its all about raw talent, but its all about money for him.

suggest you tell the contestants, everyone who auditions and the people who pay to vote...i think most realised it wasn't a talent show when more talented acts effectively got sent home by cowell.

exactly. if anyone has ever been through the audition process you would see what its like. its all about funny wackey acts, or you have to have a sob story. people should have realised when crazy people got through to the judges after the first 3 rounds! there is only a certain amount of space to see the judges of course, they cant sit there and see everyone, but 3 rounds??

And with roughly 100 people getting to the judges "1st" round of auditions in each location, how many talented people like lucie have been over looked?

Well obviously it is a TV show because the show is on Tv, however it is also a talent show and this is why there are auditions to find talented singers.

If thats the case explain how the twins made the top 12 then as it certainly wasnt done to their singing ability.

i know someone infinitely more talented than most of the contestants, classically trained pianist as well... she didnt get past the first stage with the producers. no reason given. it is NOT a talent show.

Exactly, while ripping the public off for their money!

People should watch but refuse to vote - then lets see what Simon says.

It's a Saturday evening entertainment show first and foremost, very similar to shows like Opportunity Knocks and New Faces in the 70s.

The £1m record contract is quite misleading ; it gives the impression that the show's sole function is to find a recording artist of the future. That is NOT the case.....there are already numerous talent scouts out there looking to find singers to be signed to record labels.

When you look at the last five seasons, only a small handful of acts have become chart performers.....probably a good 50 of the finalists since 2004 have not had chart success. The main function of The X Factor is to be an entertainment show and to pull in viewers and revenue.

I understand your point OP, even though all the horrible auditionees are "planted" into the "1st" auditions, there are just as many talented people that have been planted too. I think people need to remember that this show produced Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke and JLS. They are so far in their careers successful, and you never know, come March we could be adding Ruth Lorenzo to that list.

they are all in the infancy of their music careers. whether they will be here in 3-5 years, i would doubt. infact i would bet heavily.

after all it was always obviously a bike and just advertised as a car

OK well based on that, nobody should phone in to vote then because in essence all votes are nullified anyway. If it's akin to a soap then why on earth are people voting?

This is probably quite contraversial, but do you honestly think leona and co just wondered in to the auditions?? do you honestly think simon hadnt already spotted her, and added her in their? she could have been, but the public would still have made her win.

same with alex, she did it one year, they would have asked her to come back, because she has the "story"

It would actually be a very clever way of doing things.Instead of signing her to a record label, get her to "audition" for the show and we can watch her "journey" through the series.Nothing would surprise me.....very little on reality TV is actually real.

Im not saying it was fixed that she won it, im sure that was down to the public. but he probable plants people in there.

Its the same principle with the BBC finding people to play leads in a musical, its just one large advert for the show/winner.

while nothing would surprise me you are actually saying if leona was a plant then it had to be a fix.....otherwise her marketability would have gone down the pan if she'd been voted out in week one....and why kick alexandra burke out just so you can have a story a few years later doesn't make sense.

some of the logic on here is as baffling as the opinion.

Well think about it, Simon must get thousands of people sending in tapes of their singing. Why would he need to do a tv show?

because its all publicity!!

Im just saying he proboably plants about 10 people in the audition rounds to see how the public like them, and in leonas case they did!

He isnt stupid, but he seems to think the public.
