Get rid of Alesha

I think the worst decision that strictly has made was getting rid of arlene and replacing her with Alesha
If they were to pick a winner, they should have picked darren gough, as he has won more than one title.
Alesha has no idea about dancing or choreography.
I think they shouldve replaced arlene with karen hardy, because she is a dancer and knows about choreography
and she is fair
Also i think aleshas comment to craig in blackpool may have been faiar, but she id NOT need to use the tone she used.
Do u agree with me?

I'm glad what she said to Craig. In fact she went up in my estimations for speaking the truth. Had any of the other judges said it people wouldn't have fussed too much. As for her being replaced....she has grown on me I think she adds sparkle to the pannel. I do like her personality. She does make some well observed comments, as well as some inane ones, e.g "you are lovely to watch, the dance flowed well." Amazingly, I have accepted her. At he beiginning of the series I was seriously mad at her being there. I think another judge could be added however if the BBC have the money, for extra technical knowledge. Karen Hardy would be brilliant.

Arlene was not "odd". Alesha is a total joke.

I was doubtful of her appointment as judge, but watched the show with an open mind and whilst her first show was a bit strange (the 'pink' comment), i think she's settled in well and has made constructive criticisms. i know a lot of people were up in arms about her comments to Craig on Saturday, but tbh it didn't really bother me (a lot worse has been said and no doubt will be said as the series continues).

maybe Alesha should be replaced, maybe she shouldn't. but i doubt anything can be done about it until next year anyway.

I don't think Arlene was 'odd' but she is a total joke. Accepting a gig from The Sun - the newspaper owned by the BBC's arch nemesis? What is she playing at?

Her behaviour last year was out of order and I, for one, was thrilled to learn she wouldn't be coming back.

I have no real problem with Alesha but love to see Karen Hardy on the panel where she belongs ... and Bruno shown the exit door.

As I said in the other 'Alesha' thread, IMO In order to cover up her lack of technical knowledge Alesha seems have a stock set of generic comments/templates in the locker she uses every week, with a few minor adjustments and amendments of course. Obviously THAT comment she made to Craig wasn't from the same locker. It was from the 'you was well good' & 'I is gonna cut ya ya biyatch' street wise locker

I was allfor her being given a chance. However, she clearly can't keep personal emotion out of difficult decisions which she must as a judge. She should go.

That thread isn't specifically about getting rid of Alesha though, it's just people complaining about something she did. Not everyone who felt Alesha was wrong to say what she said to Craig wants her off the show as a result.

I despise The Sun and wouldn't accept a free copy, let alone buy it, but if Arlene has no such problems why shouldn't she write for them? Out of loyalty to a corporation who didn't renew her main contract and already has other of it's major stars writing for The Sun?

If it is, you have to admit that it added a new and exciting twist with suggesting that Darren Gough would have been a better idea

Okay. If you search for threads with the word 'Alesha' in the title started in the last 6 months you will find 66 of them.

How many of them do you think are about Alesha's suitability and/or performance as a judge?

If Arlene can't see why writing for The Sun might conflict with her continuing to work for the BBC on a popular entertainment show, I can only assume she is more driven by spite and/or greed than I would previously have thought.

The Sun - or, to be more precise, Rupert Murdoch - is on a mission to massively curtail the BBC's output (check out James Murdoch's speech at the Edinburgh Television Festival if you don't believe me - it's pretty unequivocal). If Murdoch gets his way, you can see mainstream entertainment shows like Strictly removed from the BBC's remit.

I can't comment on other BBC stars writing for The Sun - but they too should wise up to what's going on ...

And if Arlene was really so riled with the BBC, why didn't she take the gig on Sky 1's Just Dance instead of opting for So You Think You Can Dance?

This is very true and it does worry me. If Murdoch can't get the BBC website down, he'll do his damndest to destroy everything else. Oh, sigh.
