X Factor and Pop Idol / PopStars -- ever bought any of the winners' albums?

A light bulb moment came to me after reading part of another trhead:

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1160577

** Have you ever bought any singles / albums of ANY of the X factor or Pop Idol / Pop Stars winners ...?

** or very near runners up...?

FOR ME:
======
** Will Young -- the best and only real star found on the original "Pop Idol" and no one as unique or talented as him since.

**G4 -- very interesting act, shame they split

Winning artists I "listen" to but have not purchased:
------------------------------------------------------------------

** Girls Aloud -- very funky pop/rock chick sound

** Lemar (from Fame Academy)

** Darius Danesh

** Gareth Gates

NONE of the recent winners (Alexandra, Leona, Leon Jackson, Rhydian, Shayne Ward, Steve Brookstein, etc etc) do it for me at all.

Just Leona's album and deluxe...she showed me that talent shows could produce proper talent...no one has impressed me since though!

Only Will Young of the winners. I was given the Same Difference CD by my daughter because she knew I used to like them, but I wouldnt have bought it myself. I bought Rhydian's and will continue to do so.

The only other winners albums I have bought have been from Idol. Carrie Underwood, David Cook.

I also have Adam Lamberts on order , and own both of Daughtry's albums.

Idol in my opinion, does tend to have a better standard, probably due to the population being larger, and the fact that Idol doesnt involve the mentoring of the judges.

If Danyl, Olly, Jamie, Joe or Stacey win this year, I will seriously consider buying their song, but not until after Xmas no 1 is announced because I am not contributing to another X Factor no 1 at Xmas, and only if I like the song.

If any of the following release albums if they don't win, I will buy them dependant on the style. Danyl,Ollie,Jamie, Joe,Stacey,Lucie, Miss Frank.

Edit: Yes I do know Lucie and Miss Frank definitely won't be winning!

Bought Leona's and got Rhydian's as a pressie. I'd maybe get Alex's. Will probably get Ruth's (was listening to some mp3s of her performances last year! WOW!). However if they don't win, the album's tend to not be very good. What ever any one says about being better off if you don't win just isn't true in my opinion.

Oh yeah forgot about Hear'say, got their album too. Haha, remember thinking at the time (i was about 13) that it was actually quite good, i doubt i'd have the same opinion if i was to dig it and listen to it now though.

Oh I didnt know Lemar counted. I've bought a few of his albums too.

I would also buy an album by Jamie and Stacey if they released one.

Might be interested in Ruth's, Laura's and Austin's albums from last year and Rachel Hylton if she ever gets signed would also be on that list.

I didn't buy any of their stuff but I really liked Pure and Simple. Also Loving is Easy...the one with Lisa Scott Lee's hubby in it, he replaced Kym Marsh.

I've just listened to Pure & Simple on Spotify. It wasn't bad. God I was obsessed with them when that came out. I quickly lost interest.

Will Young is the only one I've ever bought an album of - and I still like it and would buy more. I really like his voice.

I can't bear Leona. I switch her off if she comes on the radio.

I like JLS but not enough to buy an album and I don't mind some Girls Aloud stuff but wouldn't bother buying it.
