New Doctor Who Fan (Part Tom Baker)

Wow, page 183. I can't keep up, must visit more often.

Never did get to post about The Wedding of SJS, so I'll just say that as a Star Wars geek I got a cheap thrill out of hearing K-9 say 'Master Luke'.

Anyway, last night I was watching an old Avengers episode (From Venus with Love) and whom did I spot but Jon Pertwee!... actually I must confess I didn't spot him till I read the credits, as he was such a good actor he was entirely un-Doctorish. And he was playing a Brigadier (...though not The Brigadier)! Beret, moustache and the whole kit! So then, how very very Spearhead from Space is this:

* The first ever colour episode
* Of a Sydney Newman-created programme
* With Jon Pertwee
* And with a Brigadier
* In a story that has to do with a (possible) alien invasion
* And uses a plastic dummy (of John Steed)!

Quite ironically, no... You are at page 1

And congratulations for being our new OP (though, no offence, but Tiggs will remain our True OP) !

Ok, so are we going to remain on Part Tom Baker (how sweet is it to type this ?) until Ten bows his way out ? I keep my fingers crossed. Part Tom Baker should last longer than any other. (And I'm still sad about Part Troughton was so short, but well, regenerations, moving on, etc. ).

D'oh! The first thing we really have to say about Jon Pertwee and it's Part Tom Baker! Anyway, it's an honour to be the OP on this one.

Trollface got the last in Part Pertwee. Hi Trollface !
I copied the end of your post because I wanted to answer.

Quote:
One thing that I've not seen anyone pick up on (and if they have and I've missed it, then I'm sorry), but that's how reckless the Doctor is in this story. It's as Moffat described him in the "11th Doctor" Confidential, he's the first Doctor who wasn't so much eccentric and reckless. He's trying to avoid the guards, so he sets the base's nuclear reactor to explode as a distraction, reasoning that they'll be able to put it right in time. That's incredibly reckless. You couldn't imagine an earlier Doctor doing that, or a modern one. It's an interesting dimension to his character.
I haven't seen the 11th Doctor Confidential. Was Moffat refering to Five or to 11 ?

Oh, no in depth discussion about Tom's stuff ? And I really wanted to open that new thread on the moral dilemma in Genesis of the Daleks and its repercussions for the Time War

It's because I mentioned a regeneration episode, that was it. Right, nobody is to discuss The End of Time, got that?
