Big Finish bringing us more "Lost" stories

Announced in the new DWM that they're following the original Season 23 with what would have been Season 27.

But that's not all! They're also doing Companion Chronicles style adaptations of the unmade Hartnell stories "Farewell Great Macedon" and "The Fragile Yellow Arc of Fragrance" and the Troughton story "Prison in Space".

And there's more! They're also producing an audio version of The Destroyers; Terry Nation's pilot for a US Dalek TV series.

There goes my money.

Dunno how they're going to do the Hartnells, but I suppose it'll be interesting to find out. I'd be less worried about the Troughton one, because Frazer Hines impression of him is spookily brilliant.

Not sure I'm as fond of the
spoiler:
Ace as a timelord
concept I'd imagine the McCoys are going to do, but again I suppose it'll be interesting.

As I said above in the Companion Chronicles style, albeit with more than one cast member doing the narration.

Well, it'd be interesting to see if they introduce

spoiler:
the planned "new" companion for that season - a high society jewel thief, wasn't she? <sudden shadow of Lady Christina looms large>

Ah.

Will Sylv regenerate into Richard Griffiths at the end of them all though?

I've never heard of "The Fragile Yellow Arc of Fragrance" What a great title!

They won't be full cast stories, then? Shame. I'd have loved to have heard my favourite companion, Barbara, with a new voice.

Prison in Space? Is that the one where Zoe gets spanked? I can't remember now. Some of the late Troughton unmade stories are even worse than some of the stories that were amde (Krotons, Dominators, Space Pirates).

I haven't listened to any Big Finishes for years and years. i bought the stageplay ones out of interest, but haven't listened to them yet. I might go for some of these missing stories, just to find what could have been.

Wasn't Raine, the new safecracking companion, going to be called Kate originally? Using that name wouldn't have broken the unwritten One Steve Limit rule.

Think so... I know there was also a plan to bring in:

spoiler:
Her father - originally he appeared, with baby daughter, in a Ace 60's-set story, then later after Ace left, I believe the Doctor comes forward to the 90's, meets him again and "Kate" is all grown up. I think someone, whether is be JNT or Andrew Cartmel, said someone like Tom Georgeson was the type of actor they were after.

Be interesting to see if BF stick to the original thinking casting-wise, or the series follows that original mini-arc.

Kate was the name given in the DWM article on Season 27.

Raine was the name Andrew Cartmel gave in his book on his time on the series and I think he's probably knows best. (In this case, anyway!)

So BiG Finish are going to contradict their own continuity if they do the original series 27 sseing as
spoiler:
Ace was supposed to go off and be a timelady, but is still in the continuing monthly releases as travelling with the Doctor for about 10 years after the end of Survival

Maybe season 27 just takes place after Ace's other Big Finish audios?
