The Oscars

The Oscars are on tonight but I don't have Sky One.

Is it being streamed live anywhere on the internet?

I will be watching Live from the red carpet on E. It will be much better than the build up with Sky.

I too was looking forward watching it tonight and then discovered that they had stuck it on Moves1

What a tight-arse Sky is.

I'm really mad about it

What sort of coverage is E! doing? Just outside on the red carpet, or inside coverage as well. ...or has Sky got the exclusive copyright on proceedings?

a fool and his money are easily parted but I ve got a bet on clint eastwood and johnny depp at 22 and 20 to 1 respectivelyto win best actor.I think foxx may have peaked too soon as last christmas they were saying he was a lock.I have a bet on foxx to win best supporting at 25/1.

I've just had a look at the TV guide on www.sky.com. E! are doing coverage of the build-up until 1am and then showing documentaries until 5am when they will have a post-Oscars party show. So the answer is no, they are not allowed to screen the actual ceremony apparently.

I'm just as annoyed as you are. I'm paying a hefty Sky Sports subscription and yet Mr Murdoch Jnr has deemed that this is still not enough to enable me to be able to watch events like this.

I hope so too! Sky are just being greedy. Theres no need to put it on Sky Movies1. Sky1 would have been fine, but BBC would be better!

Pro 7 on 19.2 E apparently.

Times like this that haing Sky Movies is actually worth it! Although I've seen a few good films on there recently (the 'Three Colours' trilogy and 'Spirited Away' to name four.)

I've watched the ceremony live a couple of times, but after the overlong 2002 Oscars, I've watched it 'delayed' and skipped through the ad breaks- takes a good hour off the running time. Especially with the hosts Sky have employed, if it was Jonathan Ross filling the gaps I might have watched, but the panel last year just didn't work.

Its a shame its not on the BBC, I can remember being in the halls in Uni for the 2001 Oscars and having an On Digital box (still works nicely as a Freeview box). I subscribed (and others chipped in) just so we could watch the Oscars live.

I'll get up about 9am and watch the ceremony (good thing I'm not at work!) without listening to the radio and staying off the internet!

Oh well, I just upgraded by adding Movies 1,3,5,7,9 and as it's the middle of the monthly payment, they are only changing £7.40

Can't afford it but, oh well

Cinderella is going to the ball!
