Official price rises info.

The following information comes from a leaflet that was enclosed with my bill that arrived today. Changes take place on 1 June 2005:

Phone:
3-2-1 Standard (basic line rental) up by £1 to £10.50 but now includes free weekend local calls.
Talk Unlimited Local and Talk Unlimited both reduced by £2 to £12.50 and £16.50 respectively.
Phone & Surf reduced by £1 to £29.99.
Calls to mobile rates on Talk Plans adjusted, mostly reduced but up on calls to O2 (by 1.25p), T-Mobile (by 3.31p) and Orange (by 0.67p) at weekends.

TV (all prices here include the £1 increase in line rental):
Base Pack with no premiums up by £2 from £19.50 to £21.50. Mid (not available to new customers) and Family pack prices up £1 because of line rental increase. If you have premiums (Sky Sports/Movies packs) the prices all go up £1). Hangama Pack is down by £1 to £24.00 in addition to your base/mid/family pack subscription. Analogue packs are up £1 because of line rental increase.

Internet:
All broadband stays the same, unlimited dial-up goes up £1 a month to £13.49.

Base Pack with no premiums up by £2 from £19.50 to £21.50?

This is ridiculous. I remember when I first got cable the base pack was around £12 including line rental.

Well, it's good news for us, for once.

Our Base Pack TV is free with Talk Unlimited for a year, so that'll be going down £2 a month.

You win some, you lose some, I suppose.

lucky u mucka! ive had all channels except sports since ntl digital was launched in my area ,talk unlimited 24 since it started and 300k-1mb internet and ive never had any special offers or ways to keep my custom just shows that ntl are not willing to look after their good customers. they even upped my credit limit to £200 3 months ago because my bills have always been paid on time every month. i dont want to drop my channels to the basic but its they way its going also dont want to pay for line rental.

sorry rant over now

with e4 / e4+1 joining granada men and motors as a fta dtv channel on freeview...

shouldnt ntl now be adding more channels or reducing the bill?

I should imagine that M&M will join the base pack, but E4 / E4 +1 won't.

The E4 channels are remaining subscriptions channels on Sky, so I can't see it being any different on NTL.

That's a startling comment from someone with the base pack, seeing as E4 and E4+1 are both already in it.

E4/+1 have been in the Base Pack for ages, haven't they?

i thought i read that sky would remain charging for e4 due to a contract running until 2008, however that money would not go to channel 4, therefore they could use that money to buy another channel and include it on the pay for packages.

so ntl should be able to do the same. they might be charging for e4, but that money should be spent on another channel as c4 shouldnt be getting any money for it from ntl either especially as ntl does not have the interactive content sky or i guess freeview will be getting.

If I'd known that was going to happen I would have taken more care over the quality of my post!
