New series of Doc Martin - I saw Martin Clunes!

Hi everyone

I just got back from Cornwall yesterday. One of my favourite places down there is Port Isaac - I could sit there all day on the beach with a cappuchino. I've watched all the Doc Martin films and the ITV1 series and knew they filmed it at Port Isaac, but I was lucky enough to see them filming the next series on Friday. I stood just a few yards from Martin Clunes and watched him do the same take about 10 times: leaning into the blue Land Rover to get his doctor's briefcase.
It was a very hot day and he was wearing a grey-green suit so the chap must've been boiling.
We also saw Joe Absolom and I'm sure that we could've met them and had photos/autographs if we'd hung around but it was our last day and we had much to do.
I just had to share this because it made my day.

Thanks for posting this! It was a really interesting read!

Port Isaac really is such a lovely place - if I were an actor, that is ONE place I wouldn't mind relocating to for a few months!

The new series WILL be starting in the autumn:

Doc Martin autumn 2005, ITV1 – Series two of the comedy drama starring Martin Clunes.

Loved the first series so much - I knew I would enjoy it, but I really looked forward to seeing it every week. It's nice to have something that ALL the family can sit down and watch, and something that makes you think "Ahhhhhhhhh"!

The DVD of series One is out at the end of October so late October would be a good guess for the new series.

I didn't meet Martin but I helped one of the producers out of a jam - didn't realise who he was until he left.

I agree, it's a great family programme, we need more feel-good dramas.

I honeymooned in Cornwall and we visited Port Isaac - it's such a beautiful place, though for some reason I don't remember an awful lot about it

Ooo I got married in Plymouth and we honeymooned in Cornwall as well. I come from Australia and have travelled over a lot of this big wide world but I must say Cornwall is one of the most spectacular places I've ever spent time in, I love it.

Really loved the first series of Doc Martin too and will definitely watch the second.
