Free dvds in this week's/weekend's papers

Sorry if you've already got any similiar threads running (I don't visit 'movies' that often), but if not, how about using this thread to inform other forum members of upcoming freebies?

Free with this saturday's Independent

'Swimming With Sharks' starring Kevin Spacey.

Very good thread idea, well done. It can be ongoing and updated every week. I think these free dvd's are brilliant. With regard to The Guardian, I have got coupons to get me this for only 60p, even more reason to say yipee!!

Bothered. Last weekend The Sun gave away The Cannonball Run. Comedy genius. You'l never get a better free film from any paper ever again.

I was actually saying to someone this week that it wouldn't be long before a real blockbuster was given away as a freebie, and ID4 was one of the titles that came up.

Free with next Saturday's Guardian:

East is East starring Jimi Mistry

Free in next Saturday's Independent:

Indochine starring Catherine Deneuve

The only downside to 'The Madness of King George' DVD is that you have to sit through the FilmFour trailer on the start, and theres no chapter points at all on the film. Not bad for 60p (I had a vouhcer too) but removing the chapter points is just annoying!

Thank you Count for the posts regarding the free dvd's, really useful. My wife insists I get the East is East dvd as it's a quality film. Knowing me, I'll just splash out and get all three.

The Times gave away "cabaret" a few weeks back as well. Must have had a huge stock. Not complaining as its a quality fillum.

Now, despite the haranguing this film (Rogue Trader) received from the press, I actually like this movie. Good performances from the whole cast. I was working with David Frost at the time the Nick Leeson story broke and it was David that got the first exclusive interview and his Company, Paradigm, went on to make this movie. Good thumbs up from me and I'll take a wander down to my newsagent and buy.

Would agree with that.

It's amazing that at the end of the film the actors can't say their lines for laughing but just continue anyway.

In fact i'm sure Burt Reynolds Captain Chaos ad lib and laugh through the whole thing.

A must see film!!

The Daily Mail does us well. I have had one batch of comedy dvds so far and another is awaited. The children's dvds are a bonus and I will get them for my neices. If the Mail keeps being so generous I'll soon run out of storage space.

Yes I'd second that; Spacey is a superb actor. Has anyone seen him in Richard II at the Old Vic yet? I'm nowhere near London and won't get to see it. I hear it's a Trevor Nunn production.

We watched around 45 minutes of this but were rather disappointed and we are usually fans of period and costume drama. Were we missing something? It was almost as if people were making a mockery of the whole thing.
