My brother auditioned yesterday, got to the diary room chair but no further! I know he is going to try again today, haven't heard anything yet so maybe no news is good news (or maybe bad news for everyone else who could end up sharing a house with him!!!)

Auditons Fixed!

I went to the London auditions on Saturday and couldnt believe it!

They bring you up ten at a time and whilst my group were up each having their say one at a time (in order to get chosen for the diary room) - the girl who was interviewing us would ask questions.

However she turned he back on two seperate people whilst they were still talking to look at someone else in another group who was being ultra loud. How flipping rude is that.

I now know that they are lying when they say they dont know what they want as also whilst i was up one of the senior male stuff came up and whispered in the girls ear to let the girl at the end of the line through.

I blatantly heard it and so did someone else. This girl hadnt even spoken yet!!! However she was extremely pretty.

If you looked at the people getting through to the diary room they all looked like the same sort of person.

Its obvious they know what sort of person/character they are looking for even thoe they deny it..

Mark my words this year there will even be a much older person.

The way they were so rude has totally put me off. Its a case of if they dont like the look of you bollocks to what your personality is like they wont even bother listening to you.

They are so rude and so up themselves. One of them even said to a girl in the line when she asked how old one of the others was cause she hadnt quite heard "Do you want to stand up here and do my job!" Whats that all about?

It also appears of those getting through to the diary room they were only picking one out of 10 to go through to the next round.

50 people on Sat and 50 people on Sunday or thereabouts got through the Diary Room bit to the next stage which is Weds and Thurs (depending if you went on Sat or Sun). That is to fill out a questionnaire and to answer questions in the diary room. Thats stage 3 and there are 7 stages in total.

I went with a friend on Sat and the group of 10 she was in, you're meant to get a minute each to speak, there was one person in her group who completely took it over and no one else got the chance to say anything and the Endemol rep. didn't even try to stop her. She got put through of course.

I don't agree they're only putting certain people through. My friend isn't stunning by any means. But everyone she meets tells her she should be on Big Brother. My friend was very pissed off, we'd been there since 9am and they took a break for lunch for half hour and we didn't get seen til 2pm. So we got ourselves a gameplan together (not gonna reveal what it was, but hence to say it worked I'm saving that for my expose), went back yesterday (Sunday) where she got through to the Diary Room, and now she's through to the next stage on Thursday. So it goes to show that she had the personality to go through on Sat but that person took it over and overshadowed her and the rest of the group.

I think the audtions were a total shambles in my opinion.

i got past the diary room

hey, i do sympathise with angela24 about having to compete with extra loud people -- but that's just how it is.

if you aren't extrordnarily pretty / handsome, they you have to show off your personality. i will admit to being the extra loud person in my group of 10. sure, i felt bad i was taking the attention away from others, but in the end, so what?

i didn't go there to be fair. i didn't go there to make sure everyone had an equal shot. i went there for ME. and i really couldn't give a shit if anyone else got in (including the friend i went with)

if you want to be picked you have to make them notice you.

after the diary room, they made us fill out a very personal 35 page questionaire.

guess i won't be running for prime minister now...

stolenpowerbook when do you have to go in Weds or Thurs?

Agree with the gameplan thing though - the first auditions are also part of the game if you ask me, and you have to play it well!

Does anyone know how many people turned up at the London auditions?

Presumably, they get the biggest turnout in the capital??

First impressions are what's most important. If you let some loudmouth hog all the available time then you haven't made any impression at all.

I go Wed morning.

Anyhow, about the loudmouth comment above. In most situations I would agree with you. Being a loudmouth does make a bad impression. As far as these auditions went, being a loudmouth wasn't a bad thing. loud mouths make for good television. as much as i could't stand Science, there was part of me that loved to hate him. I wouldn't dare flip the channel when he was having a rant.

I think it's more important to get noticed than it is to be a loudmouth. But for somepeople being a loudmouth is the only way to get noticed. I admit to being loud, but I made short poignent comments that had a sting. That's just part of my personality. If you're gonna be loud, you better say something that's gonna count.

I would have guessed about 8000 over the whole weekend. Sunday was very quiet.

Newcastle was only one day so they could do the call backthe next day.

London was for two days so presumably that's why they are having them in the week?

What if people can't do the week day? I guess they are out of the race.

I can't believe that after this week they are going to go through all the tapes again from the 12 days of auditions. If you say 80 people per venue got through then that would mean 960 tapes!!!

My theory is that after the end of each audition venue theywill have already identified the top say 20 people.

That means next week they will probably start to look at 240 to get to the final 50!

In my group of 10, only 2 got through the DR stage, me and this other person. I wasn't being totaly loud but said something, that got me through, I even passed through the DR stage eventhough I felt I made a mistake in the 1 minute DR audition. But I know they liked something about me.

Its odd cause i was loud but the quieter ones got put through to the diary room.

Sad as it may sound i tried again and decided to be more restrained and the loud ones got chosen.

Cant flippin win!

Can anyone who got through past the diary room say whether they spoke normally or were you a bit manic?

i looked directly into the camera. i spoke clearly. i was expressive. i used my hands when i talked. my eyes lit up as i was speaking. i was really into my subject matter. i did not stutter. i smiled a lot. i was an engaging personality.

that is basiclly the same way i act after having two Cosmos.

Up to a point you have to have strong features to be on TV as the face sort of gets flattenned.(i don't feel I have to work in Tv for 40 years to say that )
