Film 4 + 1

Was watching Film Four late last night and saw an advert for Film 4 + 1 comming soon. I assume this is what they are doing with the freed up quiz call slot for now.

Does it have a confirmed launch date/time? I'm assuming it's 4pm this Friday.

They just said it will be on channel 32. Isn't that e4+1's slot?

You may need to rescan your box as some channel numbers changed recently. Did I get it in one?

It's the same, but with a very square +1 tacked on to the side (level with the word FILM). You won't see it on screen anyway.

Ah, I see! It should appear on the Freeview website (or, if they still do it, the downloadable PDF channel line-up). if not, I've made a mock-up of it for my website... I'll send it to you if it comes to that!

Aaaah, fair enough. I've not rescanned for a while. I only ever watch the BBC channels and e4+1 nowadays!

I noticed something on the on-going preview on the Quizcall channel. They said it was on Ch.37 on freeview (currently occupied by the Smile TV slot). Not sure if its just moving places or not - or it's an old promo?

You seem to have missed the point. Film4+1 is there temporarily until they have a channel ready to replace it. The alternative would have been to put More4+1, C4+1, or nothing! The sale of QuizCall was a quicker process than developing a new channel. Once they have the idea for a new channel they then need to do some market research, work on the channel identity, obtain programmes, and then some publicity before it will appear. Film4+1 is better than a blank screen for a few months.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Bring on the new repeats. Actually it's not Mheg but full video. Mheg would have been a surprise.

I totally disagree with you, I am amassing films on my Humax at a quicker rate than I can keep up with, so far a total of 22 films.

Couldn't agree more. Although I guess I'd like to see a little more 'art house' - like Film Four used to be.

The trouble is that many people have opinions whereas a few of us have taste.
(nor do we blaspheme)
