Chantelle: Living the dream

I got this for christmas this year, was quite useful since I didn't have a book to read. I found it extremely boring to start with, her talking about her childhood. Yawn !

She talked about being in majorettes and how amazing that was ...nothing really that exciting, I guess it wouldn't be since she's not really done anything in her life that is that interesting!

The bits that were almost worth while were the CBB parts. It was quite interesting looking over what happened in the house again. However her constant talk of falling in love with Preston was again !

She goes on to discuss her life after big brother...Here's a little extract

"I did a lingerie shoot for Marks and Spencer, who were launching a new line of undies for younger women, called Ceriso. It was all very pretty and girlie just my kind of stuff. I was thrilled when they let me keep some of it. I've always loved M&S, but it had always been too expensive for me. The photo shoot was for the daily mail, which made me feel very posh and upmarket. I'd never in my wildest dreams imagined I would be in the daily mail wearing M&S!"

Since when has the daily mail been posh or even upmarket!!

Anyway it took me about 4 hours to read and that wasn't even me reading it non stop. I ate lunch in between, I would recommend this book to people who have poor eyesight because the print is so big you probably wont need glasses to read it. 266 pages of huge writing fleshed out with numerous pictures.

However there are a few nice shots of her wedding to Preston, she looked very pretty. I respect her for not selling the pictures to OK! or any other magazine. I was quite surprised that it was a small traditional wedding.

What did other people think?

Haven't read the book, nice girl, wish her well, but thick as they come. M&S too expensive ! Wait till she gets asked by Rigby and Peller, then she'll really have made it!

It's all relative. If Primark and the Daily Star are what you're used to, M & S and the Mail probably seems classy

She is an extremely nice girl. But a little dull to deserve celebrity.

I totally agree MRS LAWSON...she comes across as a nice girl just a bit dim and equally boring.

The Daily Mail is a sneaky paper. They use a posh font and a black and White logo to hide the fact they are as trashy as the Daily Star. From a distance it gives off the impression that it's a real newspaper so it's unsurprising someone like Chantelle would assume it's posh.

I prefer the more honest nature of The Sun/The Mirror/The Daily Star...at least they don't hide the fact they are trash. You know what you're getting the second you see the frontpage.

True, she is nice enough, but she also comes across as bit too media savvy and seems to rely on sob stories and the cinderella plot, imo.

Speaking of LTD, did she speak of her money woes. How did she get into debt?

She tried to be a celebrity and did some random glamor shoots, while she was doing this she wasn't working and was spending a lot of money on her hair and nails and stuff.
Stupidity IMHO

I dont read bigraphies unless the person is older than 60, then they have stuff to write about!

Where they were when Kennedy was shot, Where they were when Lennon was shot,
Where they were when man landed on the moon,

At least they have something to write about.

Most people`s biog.........

I was asleep when Kennedy got shot.

I was down the pub when Lennon got shot.

I was eating a Milk Flake when they landed on the moon.

If you don`t read biogs on people under 60, then I guess you won`t be reading any on Lennon, Kennedy or the Apollo astronauts.

And I guess the bio on 15 year old Anne Frank would be off-limits to you as well. Holed up in an apartment during the second world war. No life experience. Bit boring.

lol being a massive fan of John Lennon, the only Biography I have read relating to him was the one Cyntia Lennon wrote. I have alot of books relating to John Lennon and the Beatles, I have been to New York and spoke to the doorman at the Dakota Building where he was shot, I have visited Liverpool many times, and been to the museum.......just read back and realised how sad I must look! It was facinating. And If John was still alive he would be over 60
However, I thinK my point was I like to raed about people that have lived a life.

Chantelle's biog should be re-named how I became famous. Same as Jodie Marsh, Jordan and the likes....
IMO ofcourse

I don't know If you have read the Pianist, but that was written by someone who is not a writer, just someone who wrote about his experience of being a jew and living in the (REAL) Ghetto.

It was banned when he first brought it out, because he wrote of a German Soldier helping out while he was in hiding.

I think Chantelle is Great and whether people think she hasn't done much with her life well she's been on Big Brother , plenty of Magazines, made quite a bit of money,
meets lot of Celebrity's ,
atends all sorts of guest lists, has done Jonathan Ross show and countless others ,
proved her self a match for BULLIES on the show giving inspiration to thousands of others being Bulied so i'd say she done quite a bit and she's only young yet,,

oh and above all she's probably one of the nicest people anyone would have the pleasure of meeting.

anyway that's the case of the defence of Chantel,

i remember when it was running she was slated by all Big Brother forums i stuck up for her throughout being called alsorts even when she Won they were all jealous,
and said you wouldn't hear of her in 6 months time,
and yet she's still being discussed on forums so she must have made some impact if only to bring out jealousy in many.

No different to people who have the confidence in themselves to take the risk of starting up a business, knowing the first few years can be very tough financially and that statistically most fail in the first couple of years. That's exactly what she did, invested her money in the business of trying to be famous and it paid off in the long term. Not quite so stupid, except perhaps to those who are not prepared to take a risk on themselves.

Love them or despise them, being famous or at any level on a celebrity list, is a good business to be in these days especially if you have no other skills to fall back on.

She was silly because she didn't keep her job whilst she was doing these shoots etc. If she had she wouldn't have got in such bad debt! Secondly her hair extensions and all the money she wasted was not the reason she got into CBB.

I don't like the fact that you have insinuated that I am not prepared to take risks, you don't know me so please don't try and comment on my personality.
She is not a celebrity because she is talented in anyway...
Like the dude on the most annoying celebs said WHO IS CHANTELLE?!?!?!?!

She was in bad debt? Didn't she say that she say that she just had 8p in her bank and that when she won she checked her balance she had 25k and 8p.

And you do get paid for shoots. She's done a fair bit...

I'm sorry but I dont buy into Chantelle's money woes. People are in a lot worst positions and would love to have had her money problems. and wasn't she living at home and going to raves alot?

Also, bystander, Chantelle has no talent. She just got lucky.
If anything it shows her up to be fame hungry, famous without having to work for it,imo.

I would imagine it would be quite difficult keeping down a regular job and having a lot of time off for modelling shoots and auditions.

Why was spending money on her looks a waste of time and how do you know that the way she looked wasn't taken into account when she was chosen?

As for you getting all precious about your interpretation of my post, I was talking about people in general but if the cap fits....
