Sharing Vista/XP

Just got a new laptop with Vista home premium on it. I can't get it to share folders with my XP desktop. Ive tried the usual method/wizard.
I can see the folder but it won't give me permission to open it. I've checked and double checked all boxes ticked etc.
Is there a compatability problem to overcome or is it just me?

folders will have ticks in the
read only. but you can untick
most files.
may need to go into a true admin
acount

vist home does not allow total admin
rights but there is a way using the
command prompt to switch the admin login on

http://www.pctipsbox.com/unlock-the-...unt-for-vista/

when you switch off and back on there will
be an admin log in too

bit it will not have the same protection as
the other acounts. but remember
to give it a password

also you can alter you User Account Control to give
you more control

google "User Account Control" for more info

please please please read up on these things
before doing. as you will be kicking your self
if you lose all your info.
