What is the British government doing getting involved in the McCann case?

Why has Clarence Mitchell (a Brown high-flying spin doctor) been working as an advisor for the McCanns for months, paid by the tax payer.

Why has he now resigned from the Government and declared to the world's media that the McCanns are innocent. Is he judge and jury?

It is like Alistair Campbell getting involved in spinning WMD intelligence.

They have no business spinning a police investigation or intelligence.

If he did set it up, I shouldn't think he would want to admit it. It was set up by somebody who doesn't know the difference between a politician and a civil servant.

Be he has resigned his post. That is why he can now go and work for the McCann's. He isn't working for the government any more is he

Before that he was liasing with them in Portugal. Are you suggesting that if you were abroad and a crime was commited against your family that the foreign Office and other cival servants shouldn't help you.? It is common practise and not unsual. It certainlt isn't political interference

Back in May when he went out to help them they were not suspects. He believes them to be inocent so much so he has resigned his job and gone to help them.

He may of course be wrong, I have no idea as I am not in possesion of the facts, and neither is any one else on this Board, despite the endless posts to the countary. If they are guilty I hope they are found out and punished if they are not then they have suffered a terrible fate to have their child abducted and then to be accused of the crime.

Either way if Clarence Mitchell wants to go and wok for them that is up to him and has nothing to do with the government.

You have become judge and jury in this case without having heard half the evidence.
