It was Collectormania GMEX 3 in Manchester.

Pete Davison, Sarah Sutton, Katy manning and the woman who played the weeping angel in 'Blink'.

James Marsters was the only Torchwood related guest!

I don't think most people would agree, dervish. In fact, Buffy is generally regarded as a classic cult TV programme (although I can't offer a personal opinion as I have never seen it).

Thanks Sam for posting that - I love James Masters in all the SF series he's been in - so to have him on Torchwood is great - Let's hope he puts Owen's nose out of joint!!!

Cheers, daveac

That would be a rather odd definition of the word "most",
Unless you are referring to the entire population, in which case "most" people would look at you blankly rather than having an opinion about it.

Most people who are genre fans however would probably class Buffy as being one of the top half-dozen shows ever. (I don't put it quite that high, but then I like Stargate, so I clearly have no taste.)

It has been reported that Andrew Cartmel (he of the Sylvester McCoy masterplan) was writing a script for torchwood season 3.

Doctor Who, Buffy and Heroes in Manchester? 3 of my favourite shows of all time! And I'm only in Warrington! I wish I was there! lol.

Great news about James Marsters, he's a great actor, loved him in Buffy. He was quite good in Smallville too. He likes playing evil guys, so I wonder if he's a baddie of some kind.

Great news that there's going to be a third series.

Though I can't help wondering how awesome Torchwood would be if it were produced by Kudos rather than BBC Wales themselves, with the same quality of plot, script and characterisation as Spooks.

Maybe its a cost thing - sometimes its cheaper to commission two series virtually back to back to contract-in actors, writers etc.

Not saying that is the case, but might be a reason.

They've been working on series 3 scripts for some time now, even though its yet to be officially announced. A guy I know was a writer for classic who, and he is writing a torchwood script for series 3

Note to anyone else who will read this and hit quote to disagree...

Please don't feed the attention seeking troll... the thread needs to remain on topic...thank you!

Interesting that JM is said to be in the finale of Torchwood.
Previously all we've heard is that the Time Agent character he plays would be in an episode quite early on, no mention of him being a recurring character.

I wonder if this means the Time Agency itself is the big bad of season 2? (With JM it's figurehead of course)

From what I read it was just meant to be a one off guest spot in
spoiler:
episode One
but they decided during filming to bring him back again.

Series's have a habit of bringing back James Marsters for more than originally planned. He was only supposed to be in Buffy for season 2! lol.
