It would be great to have all that space, but I have already got a box so I can't waste money on a another even though it would be great to have the extra space. I will just have to wait till my box breaks down then I would get one!! Is anyone else going to upgrade to this larger box???

You could get a bigger hard drive and fit it your self.
Of cause that will make the warranty invalid

Glad to see they have a box with a larger hard drive, but I expect it is the same box, so have the same bugs.

According to the letter I have from the PR, it's supposed to have a 'distinctive' face plate on it, or something. So they've either re-used the existing photo or, like me, had an early unit which looks identical to the original version.

Are you saying that you have the 250gb version?

You could always just spend £50 on a 250gb drive and install it in your existing box...

Yes I have; was delivered to me by courier last week, straight from the PR company. Not plugged in yet, as my living room is presently overrun by PVRs.

I'll check it out when I have a moment spare.

I wonder if it has updated software on it, as at the moment the existing Anytime box is not fully Freeview Playback compliant is it? but according to Argos the new 250gb Anytime box is "Freeview playback approved."

If you look closely at the "larger" picture on the Argos site you will see a dark grey "250" on the right hand side Behind the DVB logo

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...op%2Bboxes.htmunder the image on the left there is a link to "See larger image" clicking on this shows a larger image.

(You might need to refresh the argos page if you are not seeing the picture looking at the box straight on.)

If my trusty old 80GB DigiFusion ever dies on me, then I will probably get this 250GB Thomson.

I will wait and see what happens in terms of software updates and bug fixes though.

Yeah, I was looking at the other page. The one that has, rather confusingly, the price at £149...

It's surprisingly easy. Take a look at Lstars' helpful step-by-step guide;

I'm looking to put a 320gb in mine. it'll cost me about £50-60 quid for the HDD and my box is now over 12 months old.

I guess there's a few people whose box is heading to that age now.

I did mine last month, it was very easy to do apart from those stupid clips, took me longer to get the clips off than the rest of the work I put a 500gb in mine and it works a treat

How much did you spend on the drive? I don't want a "cheap" one but I'd like to do it for under £100 if I can...

You can get 500gb for under a hundred easy, Try www.microdirect.co.uk there very reasonable.

You need IDE connection and I'm guessing 16mb buffer is the best.
