Oneword....... Birdsong !!!

What the !!!!!!!!!!!?????????? Yes ok we know Oneword has gone but now in its place Birdsong ?? Continuous chirping of birds. If you listen long enough though i am sure you can hear a few other animals breaking through,
One wonders what the idea of this is and perhaps other animal flavoured stations will follow.
It is totally wacky beyond belief. Is it live or bird tracked ?

I heard it was a recording of the apiery at London Zoo- someone that works at Capital told me that becuase it's cheeper to run than a normal station.

Plus the research said more people like it than 1word.

I would imagine it is to keep the channel as live status rather than turn it off completely then switch it on again at a later date

Perhaps if they was switch it off completely they might lose the slot or it might be more hassle to switch it off then on again - not completely sure on that but its a guess

It could also be done to stop any back up tapes kicking in

Not true- a reliable source at GMap told me the research showed there was a big demand for birds in London especially.

It is just to keep the channel alive until another one takes its place.

The guy who runs it said that on an interview on Five Live yesterday.
