Charlie Slaters wandering hands

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/a8...r-charlie.html

How lazy and pathetic of the scriptwriters to copy an exact scene from The Simpsons from bloody 14 years ago !!

Come on EE, you can do better then that !

Its from my favorite Simpsons episode !

Homer Badman

Quote:
That night, Homer searches for the gummy but is unable to find it. Marge reminds him to take Ashley home and Homer grudgingly obliges. As Ashley is exiting Homer's car he sees the gummy stuck to the backside of her pants. Homer innocently grabs the candy and Ashley turns around to see Homer drooling lustily. Misinterpreting his poor tact as a deliberate sexual advance, Ashley runs off screaming in terror while Homer gleefully eats the candy

Eastenders have some of the funniest casts in TV, Big Mo, Sean, Shirley, Max, Tanya... etc can all be hilarous. You would be surprised by the amount of Comedy input in the last few months. Last week was quite funny with Big Mo and Tanya's "Ginger Budha" comment. Even Heather can be funny at times.

I stopped watching EE in 2004 (working late shifts and sleeping all through the day had a part to play in that, although I didn't really like the cast at that time and thought the storylines were boring), but I started watching in September last year and I have to say - what a difference.

It has the feel of the 'old' Eastenders about it again, they have a great bunch of new characters e.g shirley, heather, tanya and max, Sean, Jack, the Mitchell sisters etc. It has become a soap that could not do comedy to sae itself, to being the soap that I find myself laughing to the most nowadays.

Well done to them, I say!

Why is Eastender comedy always so erm I think slapstick is the right word

Surely they would be better suited to darker humour than out and out attempted comedy sketch shows.

It reminds me of the hedious attempt at humour that was billy and honey breaking the lights at pats!

I think the slapstick can sometimes work in Eastenders. I loved it when Billy rewired Pat's house, and I think this could also be really funny.

Although I agree that EE's humour works best in its one-liners, and there have been plenty of those this year.

They have improved the comedy and I actually find it funny. Even Phil Mitchell makes me laugh, he said to garry and minty while they were hugging, "Im off...well there weren't three blokes on brokeback mountain"

So every affair is a copy of another? Every slap is a copy of another? Every fight is a copy of another?

Yeah.... right.

I immediatley thought 'The Simpsons' when I saw this.
It's because it's a well known episode.

Well, it is very similar to "Homer Badman" - but, actually, that scene in The Simpsons was 20 seconds long, the rest of it was either build up to it, or reaction to it.

Somehow I can't imagine Charlie being picketed by a group of angry women or being stitched up on a Panorama Style Show.

It's the reaction to it, and how Charlie and Yolande cope with it, that will make it different to The Simpsons.

It does seem a little strange to have a storyline/scene so similar to that Simpsons episode, it's a pretty famous episode too and its a rather specific thing to happen too.
I reckon they've been 'inspired' by that episode.
None the less I'm in the 'EE is funny!' camp... It does comedy well, and isn't nearly as panto as Emmerdale.

All of Walford will no doubt form a lynching mob.
