One HD Channel?

Disappointing only one HD channel, when one would have thought that HD was the main selling point - not even Luxe TV which is FTA. Unless ITV HD will be there and that's the big launch secret.

Can you manually add channels, as there are some FTA ones I want which are not on the EPG.

Interesting that Men & Motors, an ITV owned channel, is so far down.
The choice of ITV3+1 rather than ITV2+1
Currently no sign of C4+1, E4+1 or More4+1, but I notice 123, between E4 and More4 is empty.
Does look a bit bare without Five, FiveUS, Five Life, Dave, Virgin1.
There's a hell of a lot of FTA channels who have obviously decided not to stump up the cash for EPG slots.
Interesting that from the Zone family of channels, they've paid for Romantica & Thriller, rather than the significantly more popular Reality & Horror.

How much would it cost them to go on the EPG?

Which is a real possibility, and that the current omission of the channel 4 plc's +1 channels aren't on there already might support that.

Why is men & motors between o'seasproperty and chart show tv?
Should it not be with the Entertainment channels, even at the end of the entertainment channel list.

I think ITV HD may be added exactly on launch date.

i would guess that the C4's +1 channels (inc e4 +1 and more 4 +1) won't appear until they are out of sky's contract (October I believe).

That's telling - at least 6 more shopping channels to look forward to, then!

On that site, Peter Waters said "Very unimpressive" and I'm afraid I'd have to agree with him. It looks a bit threadbare currently though I'm sure it'll improve to some extent. As it is, I think I'll stick with Freeview for the moment because you still get more quality channels like half of UKTV History and More 4.

I've got a quick question:

What if you input a welsh postcode? I would assume S4C and Channel 4 swap places. could someone confirm?

Freesat's saving grace is it's a secondary venture by established enitites, and not somebody's primary business. Certainly the BBC don't need it to be an overnight success, they can wait for it to be a slow grower, and presumably the cost of running the EPG stuff isn't prohibitive. So as long as there's enough take-up for at least one manufacturer to make a PVR and for the significant channels to want to pay for an EPG slot...

Why are all the music channels not available on Freesat? I thought you can pick up all FTA TV channels on the sky platform on a FTA receiver?

Because all the music channels would need to pay to appear on the guide listings and perhaps some cannot afford it and/or find it viable yet.

Freesat is EPG based. Broadcasters need to pay to appear on the guide listings, unlike a standard FTA machine.

You likely can add channels but I guess they won't be part of the EPG, just like the current Sky receiver arrangement.
