New software-Beware!

1.00.07 appears to have disabled analogue HD output i.e. Component output .
Annoying screen message appears on BBCHD till you disable in main menu.

Yeah came up here as well! Just disabled it and all was fine! Can't see any other obvious changes!

Yep just downloaded here...

got the message on the screen while watching BBC HD

- is it something to do with stopping a HD signal being sent to dvd recorders as I was led to believe you cant record HD - like HD DVD has something on it to stop it being copied?

or I could be completely wrong!

It means for example that you cannot push component around the house using Cat 5 cable plus the poster getting a better picture on Component will be totally zapped!

It is to ensure that Component HD cannot be recorded thus bypassing HDCP protection on the HDMI output.

Everybody- this looks like a very bad move and warrants howls of protest.

It is probably a Freesat directive, which Bob_Cat won't be able to comment on...

Why should some early LCD & Plasma adopters be punished like this, I can't get away with the fact they have just pumped it over the air with no anouncement or nout, I dont even own one of these soft picture producing units and feel sorry for anybody who has shelled out, must be feeling like proper tw*ts, anybody under 30 days with it, take it back under T.S. law, i.e. not suitable for the purpose it was bought for.

Don't shoot the messenger.

It is indeed a requirement of the specification, it only applies to certain events where HD Content protection is signalled by the broadcaster and is often required by the rights holders. Feel free to contact the broadcaster if you feel in some way put out by this, please don't attack Humax.

I think you'll find that the box will auto-update later on its own.

I suppose for those who bought the product to work with their component video HD TV it is the pits....

No fix for HDMI wide-screen and now not an option via component

Here, here, so I take it the Alba corp gear will be be getting the same treatment, but if its a legal requirement, why give you the OPITION to download it & not by stealth like $ky boxes?

This is a bombshell. I have a 32” LCD in my front room with no HDMI. The Foxsat was destined for that TV. Does this mean I can only get HD through my SCART or Composite input.? This is disastrous.

It only applies to services or programme content which is signalled to be restricted by the broadcaster.

We sent the details to be updated to our web publishing department in Korea, however by the time we new it was going on air they were asleep. However the update would normally happen overnight and the viewers would be able to see the log in the morning for any information.

When a programme is signalled as such - will that programme also be blocked via the SCART output?

None of these outputs are "Wired" nor have the bandwith to display HD material, so in a nut shell, your stuffed!
