Not wishing to put a spanner in the works and i don't even have a Humax, i don't see any mention of the soft SD pictures over HDMI fix ?

Wasn't that the biggest moan of Humax Foxsat users ?

Has that been problem been fixed and i missed it or wasn't it a problem at all ?

No, I don't think it was. I think the lack of aspect ratio support was the biggest moan.

The soft picture opinions came from certain people who reported soft pictures on their specific TV sets... Humax might be still investigating this, I'm not sure. Certainly if people who report soft pictures problems should also detail what the TV set they have too. This would help the investigation...

nice one humax support!

my biggest "moan" is lip-sync issues, so lets hope that is sorted as stated in the update notes. Can we expect it overnight tonight i wonder?

I agree. I seem to remember at the end of the threads about it after v09 that the majority were reporting that v09 fixed it for them.

The SD quality is the main gripe for me. I notice it is reasonable through the scart (not as good as my Digifusion PVR) but through the HDMI it is appalling. My mate noticed it & drew my attention to it whilst he was comparing Freeview & Freesat whilst the Hulk was on last Saturday. I have none of the other problems that have been mentioned. Oviously they needed sorting out for those that have them but surely the Picture Quality is the main thing, after all 99% of our viewing will have to be in SD for the time being.

the fact that we can watch things it the correct ratio is going to well improve the picture quality for me. no more squashed fat people. Wonder if alba will be Monday, then maybe even new channels on the EPG, the anticipation mounts !!!!

An interesting line item in that note is

Quote:
- Automatic services/channel update support
Some might perhaps take that as an indication that there was at least some substance to the suggestion that STB firmware might need tweaking before additional channels were added.

If this facility is included in the Alba boxes' new firmware release also, it could be a GOOD HINT that NEW CHANNELS might be imminent...

Now where's that 'new channels running out of time' thread...

Humax, are you 'stealing' some lines from us. The website .10 doc says 567 lines not 576 lines.confused:

Any chance you could add more granular manual tuning options so we can add ITV HD and BBCi services to non-Freesat mode?

You support this on one of your older boxes!

Would be very grateful!

As a matter of fact the SD picture quality is the main problem for me as well compared to even Sky box I got before.

I've got Philips 32PFL9632D telly.
If the SD quality issue could be addressed in next software update, it would be brilliant!
