Myleene Klass to replace Vorderman on Countdown?
Well, she's done every other show, why not a stint replacing Vorderman?
Terry Wogan to replace Des O'Connor? Mind you, Sir T has a poor record on daytime TV, the Terry and Gaby thing flopped, as did his 'phone-in' show on BBC1 years ago. Or Sir Trevor McDonald as new host? |

oh god her name was mentioned in a list of who could take over today.
Tbh tho I don't think she would, I mean she quit The One Show after she had Ava, I can't see her wanting to comute to Yorkshire for Countdown. |

Didn't Carol only leave yesterday?
I doubt they've got a replacement already - especially one whose diary is as full as Myleene's. |

Surely Countdown's time was up when Richard Whiteley sadly passed away?
It should have been cancelled as a mark of respect. |

Yet again , how many people on equitys books? & they still look at the same 6 people for every job. Unknowns are far better, they are cheaper , keener & probably a hell of a sight better than the usual 'names' they seem to think are popular with viewers.

It would have been good to have heard of her playing a recital or a concerto with orchestra, but I can't find anything like this. So, "failed classical artist" may be not far off the mark.

Cancel Countdown. No-one of any stature wants to do it anymore, and it's a 16-year old quiz show.
Rent-a-celeb Klass would be a total disaster. Time to stop. |

![]() Why does it need someone of stature to do it? I'm fed up of "celebs" in every programme these days. Carol Vorderman was unknown when she was picked. I would quite like another unknown to be picked to do the sums. I might have to stop watching it though if they pick Myleene Klass. |

Countdown is looking like its going the same way BBLB went when Dermot O' Leary left... down and out

What makes Countdown very unusual is that it lets you play along with the game pitching your wits against the contestants and numbers person/dictionary corner. All the other game shows I can think of are either fodder for the stupid/lazy (Deal or no deal) or memory tests such as Mastermind or Weakest Link. There will always be a place for Countdown as long as there are enough people around who aren't content to just let their brains ooze away through passive viewing, even it it ends up on a minority channel. |

Interestingly, Richard Whiteley's partner Kathryn Apanowicz has apparently said: "Countdown should now be axed. Carol is an integral part of the show and it should not go on without her. They will probably get Myleene Klass, she does everything else."
![]() Couldn't agree more with the comment re: Myleenie. I'm sick of her turning up left, right and centre on everything from music to politics. If Countdown is to continue, they should start with a clean slate and stop trying to aim for so-called 'big' names. |

think of what it will do for M&S
Of course god forbid she did get the job, no doubt she would be wearing Marks and Spencer clothes throughout after all a little subliminal advertising can only help M&S!

It;s not Myleene's fault she is offered presenting roles. She is just working hard. |

That wouldn't be a bad idea - he can't read his autocue to save his life - rather he did the numbers and Julie presented - she is so much at ease in front of the camera and handling technical stuff

I've no doubt Myleene works hard, but she seems to be a classic case of 'Jack of all trades, Master of none'. |
