Official X Factor 2009 Auditionee Thread

There seems to be loads of these threads being created so I thought it would be a good idea to have just one where anyone who is applying for next years X Factor can discuss song choices etc and get words of criticism and encouragement from the DS Peers! Also people who have been before can share their storys.

I am not sure if I am going to apply this year as I am waiting till after the new year to decide, personal reasons.

Who else is applying, if I do apply I would most probably sing One Last Cry by Brian Mcknight as its my mums fav song.

You guys?

I will post a clip of my singing asap aswell!

Btw Merry XMAS for yesterday !

Sing 'If I Were A Boy' by Beyonce Twinkles! You own that song. Only possible problem with it is that I imagine quite alot of girls will be singing it to.

Hi Guyball! I love your list of songs, in that its music I am really into - but i would say these songs are hard to sing!

You must have a really cool voice (assume you are male), who do you sound like?

Anyways i would go for the Interpol one - i love them!

Hey Twinkletoez what's your youtube account or the one on the Karaoke site?
I liked your singing on that X Factor digital spy thing.
Who won it in the end?

More of the "indie"ish ones. The thing is I have this thing with nerves where I cant sing in front of anyone, at least not properly. All my mates are trying to get me to lol

Sorry for the double posting but I didnt read all the way through...my mistake

Yeah I am male, its quite soft, not a rock sort of voice anyway and am better at singing higher ranges than lower. Do you like all my technical terms there :S

Sorry to post AGAIN, I dont know how to incorporate more than one into a post. Definitely that one, or the anastacia one if you think you can match it, or make it your own as its quite a "strong" song if you know what I mean.

I'm kinda like that Guyball, I CANNOT sing on cue at all, even if I'm trying to describe a song to people and they're like sing it, I can't lol
But I'm good under pressure, so maybe you'll find you're like that too?

Theres the confidence thing overall I guess. At school, which was ages ago it was ok and I would have people saying I could sing, but that was about 4/5 years ago so its different now. Ive thought about uploading stuff here, but again its the nerves of other people hearing it, especially if they then say im rubbish lol. Did you say you auditioned last year??

Oh my goodness, thats just like me to!! My mother will often ask me like "how does that song go again" and I can't sing it I feel embarrassed.

I applied last year, but chickened out before the first audition.
I want to do it this year, but I'm too scared...

Id like to do the Anastacia one. I have the power but it might be abit to shouty. http://www.singsnap.com/snap/watchAn.../play/b5c44208 I also don't know what it would sound like acapella.

Heres another couple I was thinking of..

Hallelujah http://www.singsnap.com/snap/watchan.../play/bfe665ee I loved this song before it was the chosen winners song. I don't know if it would be such a smart idea singing it next year though.

Snake Eater http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hg-I7rITjw To make the judges go "What the hell!?"

I was also randomly trying out songs today. I tried a sorta laid back version of "A Wonderful Word" complete with terrible random scatting in the middle (which is a stupid habit I need to sort out). http://www.singsnap.com/snap/watchAn...play/bd1261630

Im stilll lost as to what to sing. Im still discovering my voice

Hmmmm if it's not rocky then don't go for any of the bigger rock songs on your list. You obviously are a fan of rock judging by your list so go for one of the lighter indie tunes. Kooks would be good. It's better to pick something lighter and blow them away with the quality of your voice than sing something your voice maybe not suited to. Theres quite a few powerful ones on your list. For all we know though you could just be being modest and you secretly have an awesome rock voice

Yeah, I auditioned but didn't get past the producers, I think it's sort of pot luck at the first stages cos there are so many people there and they can only put so many through (without trying to make excuses) but by 6:30pm the chances are kinda teeny

I love you singing Hallelujah, but I think you probably shouldn't sing it at the audition, what with it being this years song and everything...

I really liked Hallelujah and the what a wonderful world. The thing is with hallelujah its sort of tainted isnt it? Like if anyone went and sung bleeding love, its sort of pointless?

I was annoyed when they announced that as the winners song as I did have it planned as my audition piece. I suppose I could get away with it. I remember a man sung When You Believe this year. It probably would not wise though so ill avoid it.
