As it stands Jimmy, we have no confirmation of whether ANYONE from the original MP will star in the revival this September. But in my book, it would be a miscarriage of justice if the irresistible Heather Locklear/Amanda Woodwood doesn't star cos she took the original show to great heights. She reminds me A LOT of B&B' Slut from the Valley/Whore of Beverly Hills Brooke Logan only better & NO WAY boring. Yes, she had more men between the sheets than people change socks & was on fire in every episode. The great thing about her was that she didn't need a man in her life to feel like she was on top of the world.

I think someone is need of a cold shower and a long one at that. Like C5' John Darvell used to say over the SB rolling credits "Oooh cha-cha."

ITV would just drop it like a hat if they showed it just looked what happened when it was on ITV2 back in 2000, they had the contract to air SB but ditched it after 250episodes. Plus I actually recorded SB when it was on five years ago but they are on vhs.
Whose your favourite footie team? I was an Arsenal fan in the 90s & used to collect the Premier League sticker book each season as a kid. Those were the days! Not watched it since High School. You're right, ITV1 have no concept of how to treat a US Show & the best one at that from the 90s! Jackie on B&B was only on a roll when she hooked-up with Deacon in 2004, threw Stephanie's fake heart attack in her face in 2005 & then when they have a showdown in 2006 which is to come on DTV in 6 months time. She's only ever used as an interferring mother which suited LAD better on SB.

DTV should buy the rights to SB pronto & air it after B&B in the 3pm time-slot. That way, it'd attract loads of students too who tend to finish school/college at that time. Did you used to record SB the first time round it premiered on C5 from Monday 31st March 1997 - Tuesday 29th Feb 2000 or when they aired the re-runs from September 2004 & then dumped it in the graveyard slot at 3:45am from March 2005? I did used to tape it the first time round but my VHS tapes got dusty so I threw them away & began recording the re-runs from September 2004 & the late-night viewings on the weekends from 2005. I've got episodes 1 - 217 on tape, need to convert them to DVD but I don't have a DVD recorder.

The CW has revealed details about some of the new residents in the remodelled Melrose Place complex which is to hit our screens in the autumn.

Here's the link to those details:
http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/02/exclusive-look.html

Quite frankly, Melrose 2.0 seems to get worse by the minute. Why can't TV execs just let deceased TV shows RIP???

I disagree. Yes, it would be nice to have some original content. I understand networks wanting to play it safe right now.

As for the characters, intriguing. I'll be more interested once the casting is confirmed. (I have to say there is way to many characters called Violet on US television right now!) - I hope they change that!

I am glad that for continuity, Jake's son will be featured. I can also tell you Thomas Calabro HAS been approached to revive the character of Michael. Although not confirmed, It was featured on E! last night as gossip in their entertainment segment. He will probably own the complex or be in charge at the hospital. Watch this space.

With Grant Show currently on Private Practice, I guess that return won't be happening. - He's as gorgeous as ever!
spoiler:
(Unless his character is killed off with this brain parasite which he's now crossed over to Grey's Anatomy with.)

Heather Lockhear & Katherine K Lang aka Brooke & Amanda would be good together in the same sort of way well they both slept with many men in soapland and would like to see who wins the bedding wars and see who can sleep with many blokes and count who wins, I say both super fit I wouldn't say no but that is not going to happen. Roll on September so I can download this new MP

Hey Spaintv, thanks for posting that link. The mix of characters sounds interesting enough. I can't wait to see who they cast in these roles. Will they be complete unknowns or already established film or TV stars. It's good that they've linked the original to the new version with the inclusion of Jake's son. I've read somewhere else that Thomas Calabro has been approached to reprise the role of Michael. I wonder will this tie in with one of the new characters being a medical student. Maybe she'll be working at Wilshire Memorial. As for the Peter \ Amanda rumours, as much as I'd love to see them back it would kind of ruin the original finale if they just cropped up in LA again.

Regarding which channel it'll be aired on, I think Sky 1 or E4 would treat it properly so hopefully they'll get the rights. As for terrestrial channels, I think Five is the only UK one that would schedule it properly. If ITV1 gets hold of it god help us all. In Ireland, I'd say TG4 might get it. They aired The O.C and currently airs Gossip Girl and Lipstick Jungle and treat shows well ie. keep them in the one decent timeslot without moving them all over the schedules. As for reruns of the original MP, Zone Romantica seems to be the new home for US soaps so it would be great to see it aired in it's entirety on there.

Morning guys 'n gals. Hope you're all well & enjoyed the snow last week cos I for one loved it. Seems everyone's updated this thread in my absence since last Thuirsday so good on ya all.

Steph I'm really sorry for not replying to your PMs last week as promised. Please don't be mad, it's just that since we've not had snow in YEARS I was outside having snow fights with my siblings & had some errands to run. Felt like a kid, lol. I'll do my utmost to reply very soon. Hope I'm still in your good books.

Re casting for the new MP, gotta say I'm not a happy bunny. 90210 has Jennie Garth & Shannon Doherty back from the original BH 90210, so why the hell isn't there any mention or possible returns for original stars to return in the MP revival? I know you're all thinking it's early days & I shouldn't give up hope cos there's still time for the original stars/characters to be brought back to the fold but as I'm sitting here now it seems unlikely to me cos there isn't any indications or anything. Thomas Calabro, Heather Locklear, Jack Wagner & Laura Leighton MUST return.

CPW4EVER ZoneRomantica would be the perfect channel for the original MP to be aired in its full entirety & I hope it's soon. They bought back classuc Falcon Crest and North & South so I hope MP follows next, along with Sunset Beach. Season 3 of MP is out in shops today folks so I urge you all to please visit & purchase. It's £25 which I think is worth it for 32 juicy episodes.

Hello you. Come to think of it, I would've loved it if the voluptuous HL played KKL sister on B&B. They're both blondes so there'd be no problems in that department of the 2 being passed off as sisters. Plus like you say, they both had a slutty streak in them & like Taylor Forrester says to Brooke in January 2006 (which is yet to come on DTV in a few weeks) "Go score one for all the whores in the world."

For me, I'll have to wait until January 2010 for the new MP but by the looks of the link SpainTV has kindly posted, seems like none of my favourite stars/characters from the original will star in it. Hope I'm proven wrong & we get the best cast from 90s Primetime TV (ya all know who I'm rooting for to return in dramatic style) back on our new guilty pleasure for 2009.

I urge you & EVERYONE on this thread to please buy the original boxsets of the show. Season 3 is released today so visit your local HMV, WH Smith & any other store to purchase your boxset of the BEST 90s Soap which is still remembered as a mega hit to the present day. MP ROCKS! No other show has a dialogue/scenes quite like this one. Darren Star/Frank South did it justice from beginning to end (well for me it's up to the Season 4 finale as I've not seen Seasons 5 - 7 yet.)

I'd love to see both the original 90210 and MP both aired in their entirety on ZR. It seems like the perfect channel especially since they air 4 US Soaps. Cole, Tori Spelling is also going to be in the new 90210 And I thought S5 was out on DVD today - not S3?

A big hello to you. Please check your Inbox cos there's some PMs waiting for you, which are now roughly 6 months old. Out of those 4 US Soaps on ZR, only 1 is the best worth watching (Y&R) cos Guiding Light looks like complete rubbish. DOOL is way too OTT, even for American TV but then wait for the Summer 2003 saga cos at the mo they're airing 2002 epis. It was fantastic up until 2000.

I know Tori spelling is due to appear on the new 90210, which is why I'm fuming more cos by then that show will have had 3 original stars/characters joined & at the mo there's no word of my favourite stars/characters from the original MP starring in the revival. Season 5 is out on Amazon.com but Season 3 is out in HMV, WH Smiths etc. I got my Seasons 3/4 via Amazon on Region 1 cos I got tired waiting for the shops to release them. Season 5 is only in Volume 1 with epis 1 - 15. If that sells well, there'll be a second release with epis 16 - 32. Please buy your boxsets from Seasons 1+, I guarantee you'll love it.

Cole, Didn't you read above?

E! is reporting that Thomas Calabro will be part of the remake. I have no idea if he'll own the complex or be in the hospital.

It's almost a certainty he's back.

Hello to you too I have read the PM's will reply to them soon. I sometimes watch Y&R on ZR for the fab Ashley, Grace (Donna from B&B) and that lawyer who sometimes goes on B&B aswell . GL does look terrible - just look at the credits lol. Was the Summer of 2003 in DOOL that serial killer storyline? Was it good? I've heard about it. I've heard about S5 of the MP DVD's being in 2 volumes. Seems pretty stupid when they didn't have volumes for 1 - 4. And why are we so far behind the US?

Hi Steph

I read your above post but I guess I overlooked the part where it said Michael is to return. I got confused cos I read he was approached to star but wasn't 100% of whether he agreed to it. Glad we at least have 1 original star back. Hope he has someone in tow, please let it be Heather Locklear/Amanda. Then we can get insight via flashbacks as to how their lives have changed in 10 years.

I look forwward to your PMs, as always. Do you know how Grace (B&B' Donna) exits Y&R? I hope it's not in a bodybag cos I like her scenes. I know she's Sharon's best friend who slept with Nick in 2002, I think. Did/has Sharon found out about the deed? Christine (who is Bradley Bell's sister in real life) has only appeared on B&B once from what I've seen in 2007 to defend Ridge in court. Yep, the DOOL Summer 2003 saga is the Salem Serial Killer plot-line. Sadly I've not seen it myself either, just used to read the epis synopsis on NBC site. It's ridiculous how the S5 boxset of MP is split into 2 volumes, I'm not a happy chappy. It might take over a year for Volume 2 to come out, it may not release at all if Volume 1 doesn't sell well. Please buy the boxsets online. Seasons 1 - 4 have every tantalising episode in one DVD set. I don't know why the boxsets are being released now when the show ended in May 1999. Dallas ended in 1991 & the boxsets began releasing in 2004.

Hey cole, me again.

I got the Melrose place theme tune from Itunes, lol.

My three favourite programmes in the entire world are; Sunset beach, Melrose place, and Beverly hills 90210.

You should totally buy the other seasons to Beverly hills, I know you said the imagery looks dated but surely that adds to its unique charm.Makes it feel quaint, especially when compared to the sterile Hd imagery we are confronted with on a daily basis.

I'm perhaps the only twenty something that likes my programmes to look old, lol.

Back on the subject of Melrose place, Thomas Calabro and Andrew Shue were gorgeous!

Morning you, nice to see you again after a month. I've NEVER used Itunes before. How would I go about in getting the full Melrose Place theme tune? Would it be possible to put it on my mobile? It'd be SO funny if I'm in a public place & my mobile rings with the MP theme tune & everyone can go "That's a familiar tune." I love the opening title/screen captures too.

That makes 2 of us. I was a HUGE Sunset Beach fanatic, loved it from beginning to end. Though I wasn't happy with the cheesy ending, I wanted summat EXPLOSIVE or sad, perhaps someone dying or Francesca coming back from the dead in her catsuit, lol. I'm not one for happy/soppy endings, ESPECIALLY if it's done in a fairytale manner & that's how the SB finale seemed to me. I have episodes 1 - 217 on VHS tape from wghen C5 began the re-runs from September 2004 & then dumped it in the graveyard slot from March 2005. It got axed on New Years Eve 2005 & we didn't even get Terror Island. You know how much I love MP, have Seasons 1 - 4 boxsets. Season 3 came out on Monday, please buy it.

I s'ppse that's true, it'd stand-out from all my other boxsets collection. Did it look more modern up-to-date from 1995+ onwards? Sadly I've not seen any shows in HD cos we don't have the channels subscribed.

Actually you're not, lol. I have the Season 1 boxset to classic Knots Landing which was from 1979 so I'm dying to get the rest. The entire boxset of 14 Seasons is available on www.tvdvdstore.net but it's too too expensive. I know that's dated, more so than 90210 so I've contradicted myself I know but I really wanna see the saga of Gary/Val Ewing. Plus sexy Nicolette Sherridan (Edie Brit on Desperate Housewives) was in it & I wanna see her bitchy streak. And Sunset' Bette (Kathleene Noone) was on it too but she was more serious & not eccentric. Sam Behrens (Greggy on SB) was on it for a while too.

Ah, so you had the hots for Dr Mancini & Campbell? Lol... I loved foxy Amanda the most, she was mega HOT. I loved Sydney's comical ways & her catfight with Jane from S2 in the swimming pool had me PMSL,

Looks to me this thread is slowly turning X-rated, lol. I've read people's reviews on Amazon & they say A LOT of Season 5 was sex-driven, which is fine by me cos American TV does romance the best, even if it is tasteless at times. Kristen Davis (Brooke Armstrong) was always on top of Billy like a rash. There's a post waiting on the previous page & it has your name on it Jaccobabe

Afternoon people, where are ya all? Nobody's posted on here since late yesterday morning. Jaccobabe you normally post on here quite a few times a day.

I've been told that someone's posted on Amazon.com that Season 5 of the show has 19 episodes in the Volume 1 boxset & NOT 15 like I told you all before. So, CBS have been kind enough to put 4 extra episodes in the boxset. Shame it isn't the whole Season of 32 episodes. I'll be buying mine when it becomes available on UK Amazon as it won't allow me to purchase via the US Amazon site. I urge you all to please do the same, if you haven't started already. Please buy Seasons 1 - 4 so there's a huge demand for it in the market. I must see the entire show up until the finale, it'll be a miscarriage of justice otherwise & I can't have a boxset for a show with half the Seasons hanging. The Season 5 finale is titled Who Is Afraid of Amanda Woodwood? so I'm dying to see what unravels in that year for the 1997 finale to be given such a strong title. I'm also waiting for Seasons 5 & 6 of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to be released on boxset. That, Friends and My Wife & Kids one of my favourite comedies in the world. American TV ROCKS!

OMG, where is everyone? I've just tracked this thread down on Page 9 (I didn't expect for it to go that far back) as I was the last one to post last Thursday afternoon. I checked UK Amazon yesterday & Season 5 of our favourite show has become available to purchase now. Woohoo! I really do wanna buy it (even if it does only have 19 episodes) cos I'm dying to see what unravels in style after the tantalising S4 finale but a part of me is hoping that Season 5 will be released in full with ALL 32 gripping episodes at a later stage. Is this still possible? Or do we have to accept the Volume-1 boxset with 19 epis? Seasons 1/2 of Prison Break are available in volumes but at the same time, there's boxsets for each Season with every episode in one chunk. Hope you all are in the process of buying the Seasons 1 - 4 boxsets. Cos I feel that's the only way there'll be Volume 2 of Season 5 & Seasons 6/7. Otherwise we'll have the boxsets hanging with an incomplete show. CBS need to know the demand for Melrose Place is growing. 3 more boxset releases of Dallas & the show will be complete. The DVD releases for that began in 2004 so in 5-Years, it's done incredibly well. I want MP in full too.

Hope to hear from you all soon cos I loved the fast-pace at which this thread was going.

What is going on here! This thread's been completely dead for a week since last Thursday morning. Come on you MP fanatics, get posting please. I hope since over a week's gone by when spaintv kindly posted the link about new casting for the revival this Fall, that we get more than just 1 original cast member (Thomas Calabro/Michael) hopping along for the ride. I really hope Heather Locklear, Jack Wagner & Laura Leighton reprise their original status cos NOBODY can fill their shoes.
