The Freeview Changelog
With all the changes happening on Freeview, and likely to happen during switchover, I thought it might be a good idea to do something similar to that done on the Freesat forum, namely a thread logging changes. If anyone wants to discuss a change in more detail, they can start a dedicated thread. It might be interesting to view these pages in the future to remember when changes took place.
Beginning with February 2009-: February 2, 2009: Russia Today launches on LCN 85. Broadcasting hours 6am-8am. Broadcasts on Mux D, during Dave+1 downtime. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=971936 February 3, 2009: Film 4 moves to LCN 15 from LCN 32. Some Freeview equipment requires you to delete Film 4 on 32 before re-scanning to get the channel on LCN 15. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=982456 DirectGov launches on Freeview LCN106. Placeholder appeared a week earlier. Digital Spy report from 3rd Feb: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/digitalt...-freeview.html February 6, 2009: Forthcoming EPG moves in February discussed http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=985991 |

Great idea for a thread.
Can I request that only changes announced by Broadcasters, Freeview, DMOL, DTG, Ofcom and Digital UK are posted here? Amateur sites which can so easily masquerade as 'official' can spawn confusion and at times false information so please no pointers from them. Thanks a516 for this. |

I thought the way a 'Changelog' worked was that changes are reported after they happen that way it leaves all speculation and worry about whether its true or not out and only show true information... or at least that's how the one on the cable section works.....

Thank you for the positive feedback and thank you to the mods for making it 'sticky'.
Yes, please keep the log for official announcements, and if you are aware of a change, post it here with a quote & link to the source. If you post a change, check to see if there is a thread about it (e.g. a thread might have been started as a result of previous speculation) or start a new one, giving DS forum users an opportunity to discuss this in more detail, keeping this thread for change logs only. In that way it will be useful for users to check this thread if they want to check to see if there have been any changes to their Freeview service, or to see if there have been any official annoucements about imminent changes to the service. |

It seems pointless to me. |

Further to recent posts on the changelog: No stream or multiplex changes have been announced. This is just an exercise by ITV and Channel 4 to move their digital services up the channel list by filling what are now vacant channel numbers. Please see http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=985991 for a full discussion of the changes.
Any stream/multiplex changes will be announced here on the Changelog when they come. |

Film4
Film4 maybe extending it's hours!
![]() 5.3 We intend to broadcast the extended version of our Film4 service in HD UKwide from the hours of 11am to 4am (Film4’s transmission hours will be extended by two hours in March 2009). Between the hours of 7am and 11am a children’s service in HD will be provided UK-wide by S4C. The residual hours will ultimately be used to provide Push VoD services potentially in both HD and standard definition http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radiocomms/d...s2nd/c4s4c.pdf |
