How will the news services cover the story when Jade goes

I hope we dont see "breaking news" on BBC1 or ITV when Jade Goody goes.

When was the last Breaking News story on BBC1?

I don't think the BBC would allow itself to interrupt BBC 1 or 2 for a newsflash when Jade Goody dies - the negative publicity would be too bad. ITV's news service these days is so budget stretched, I doubt they have many resources to provide and sort of breaking news coverage over her death.

If the BBC breaks programming to tell us Jade Goody has died then the News Editor and Programming Controllers need to be taken outside and soundly beaten

I imagine Sky will go crazy and it wouldn't surprise me at all if ITV did a breaking news at the next available break then return to normal programming. It would be far more convenient for them for it to happen during This Morning...I'm sure Max Clifford would accomodate

I imagine it will be Diana-esque, unfortunately.

I fear more for the newspapers who will have to fill their pages with something else.

I think the Times, Guardian et al could have a laugh with it

I doubt they'd do it but I'd love BBC to commission a memorial...Charlie Brookers Jade Memorial Screenwipe

Er...what sort of resources do you need to cover someone's death apart from a satellite truck or two? ITV News has plenty. Not that any of the terrestrial networks would do a newsflash for this story.

I don't supposed they did that for Wendy Richard did they? If they didn't I can't see why they'd do it for Jade.

Anyway they shouldn't - celebrity deaths don't usually count as breaking news.

Am I the only one that considers this thread a tad tasteless?

Especially in view of the fact that the subject may be in a position to view it?

It is sad but you have to remember that this is her job. She's a celebrity and sold her soul to us all.You can't have it always.I still get surprised when celebs complain about bad publicity while craving just the good stuff.

Did they do it for the Pope's death as well?

I suppose it's unrealistic to expect a short tribute at the end of a regular bulletin. That's all anybody else gets, which makes the whole Jade thing even more surreal.

I'll probably sound horrible here but anyway.

I do feel for her, i feel for anyone who gets cancer. I lost my auntie to the horrible killer. But people are dying from cancer all the time. Now before big brother did anyone actually know Jade? Then she came onto the show, and Poof! Everyone suddenly loves her.

OK shes dying, it does happen, yes put it on the news, but don't make it a major story every day.

When i first heard about it felt really sorry for her, and now i just can't give a dam, its not like i know her so why should i care when i have lost family due to it.

I do think its good to raise awareness, but to be all over the tv because of it i don't agree with.

I think even if your a fan you had better brace yourself for the sky news coverage which will be all hysteria followed by deification followed by a campaign for sainthood/statue/public monument/memorial or all of the above with everybody who ever sold her a pint of milk trotted out to agree with this.

I`m being sarcastic but i hope she doesnt go out in the pain they say shes in at the moment no one deserves it.

I have this image in my head of clips being shown of random members of the public wailing and howling in tears as they lay flowers at the gate of her home... with some even taking it upon themselves to shout abuse at the neighbour.

She probably wants to read it.

Squeezing every drop of 'publicity' seems to be what she's about.

Sky will have it flashing up on Sky One, Sky Sports, whilst Sky Entertainment/News masturbates into overdrive. Tim Marshall will give an analysis.

I think LIVING will probably put out anything live (such as funeral) seeing as the station has been following her
