Gary Neville enjoys Fernando Torres's Chelsea goal - video

By
Chelsea were already going through on away goals when Fernando Torres sealed their progress to next month's Champions League final.

Down to ten men and with Barcelona tika-taka-ing around their box for most of the second half, nothing was certain until Nando picked up the ball on the halfway line. Former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville certainly seemed excited by it all, anyway.

Unbelievable. Neville has successfully made the transition from one of the most loved/hated footballers in the top flight to insightful pundit, but we must admit that his in-game chat needs a bit of work.

In fact, his exclamation last night reminded us of a certain Alan Partridge's early days as a sports commentator on The Day Today.

Quizzed about his orgasmic response to the goal, he quipped on Twitter: "Wow! Football.. My sore throat collapsed on the Torres goal!!! #squeakynevtime

"Do you not get excited when you see a 6 ft, with long blonde hair and legs out about to hit the target!!"

The thought of Gary Neville's moans and "liquid football" is something that may well keep us awake.
